1and1 Anonymity Issues

I have recently registered a couple of urls at 1and1. Do they offer an anonmity service so that all my details are not available to anyone. I know I can register a 'seperate' address but I'd rather not have to go through the effort.

Thanks,

C

Oh no, not 1and1!!!

As every newbie you have done the same... regged at 1and1.com. I have also done it when I started so dont worry you will get over it. It takes time, yes, but you will get over it. :)

Joke a side, yes 1and1 has a privacy register. Its very easy to set it to private.

Read this first:
http://faq.1and1.com/domains/private_domain_registration/5.html

Then do these steps:
http://faq.1and1.com/domains/private_domain_registration/3.html

I hope this helps.

Best regards,

EDIT:
It seems I am too slow :)

For me their biggest mistake is, they dont allow bulk change (nameserver, contacts), if you have a couple of hundred domains, then you have to do it for each and every one.

And their control panel, is so slow, I once was so close to throw my laptop out of the window... I'm not kidding!

Best regards,

might be a good for a newbie not for a domainer.

Thanks for the help. Typical newbie mistake, I got dazzled by all the bright lights on the homepage. Luckily I only have a few domains so changing them should not take that long. I am thinking of changing my host over to names.com as I've heard they are pretty good and offer free privacy. My only concern with that is that they may not support co.uk domains. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Thanks,

C

EDIT:

I have followed the steps above but the contact menu does not contain a Public/Private option.
