Does anyone know much about .pt (Portugal) domain names? I honestly can't remember buying this but I do own it. Maybe I was drunk at the time I bought it.

Anyway it expires soon and was actually wondering if I should keep it or not? I honestly know nothing about .pt so am hoping somebody on here can shed some light.

Thanks

I would keep it. How much are renewals?

That auction could have been release date for nn, ll in Portugal.

Hi @Dave,

.pt is the country code for Portugal and it's highly used by Portuguese people.

2 letters .pt are rare and there is only a few open to the public, also even if they drop they aren't available to reg by normal procedures (at least from my knowleadge) so that alone adds some value because most endusers never saw one that they could buy and don't know how to get them.

I know some people that sell .pt domains by outbound (i know one guy thats been doing this for 7 years with great success) for high profit (low to mind xxxx$) but it's a little hard market if you don't get the right ones and don't know what your doing (kind of a private market) made some decent sales my self.

Those 2 letters .pt sales that are reported at namebio was when the registry (DNS.pt) first made them available to the public they auction them at sedo to see the market.

http://domainer.pt/o-leilao-de-cc-pts-na-sedo-ja-comecou/

Also there was a domain sherpa show where they touch a little bit on .pt domains a shame it was deleted.

You also have a great domainer broker operating in Portugal Giuseppe Graziano http://ggrg.com

Most big sales are made private and never reported, also sedo is the nยฐ1 place to sell .pt domains and uniregistry is good to, when i used them got some inquiries from Portuguese endusers (especially Portuguese marketing company).

From namebio it seems the recent sales where made months ago but i guarantee you there are big sales still happening privately especially since tech summit (one of the bigest summits) were here in Portugal in the summer and will be again in 2018 summer Portugal is getting big atraction from investors and startups.

PS: the last reported .pt sales i had the opportunity of buying them but i just thought to myself "they will still be there im going to first enjoy my summer vactions first" 1 month later they weren't available went to namebio and saw them kik.pt 5,903 USD ferro.pt 3,541 USD safe.pt 5,974 USD one of the bigest mistake of my life still kiking myself for that mistake.

I already shared to much information some people or members might already be pissed off with me for sharing this info but i like to contribute to the community.

Also for members watching this thread don't think your going to reg some .pt names and make lots of $$$$$ your end up lossing more money then making them, there are great names available to reg but if you don't know the market and the right names to buy you will never sell them, its a hard market to say the least.

Also most great keyword .pt available are either block or you will buy them and a couple of weeks receive a message from DNS.pt saying your name was removed and a refund.

DNS.pt are like Hawks they have lots of domains on their watch that are going to go against their rules even if you don't think so.

Heres a example store.pt Gaia.pt blockchain.pt free.pt and the list goes on.

@Dave i will PM you with more info regarding 19.pt

Also good idea to target chinese that are leaving in Portugal they make big money and love spending Big Big money on casinos the problem is finding them.

Forgot to mention if you had a good 2 LL .pt i might have bought it for the right price.

When DNS.pt released the 2 letters domains and puted on auction they sold OK.pt for 1,767 USD to one of the top 10 bigest bigest companies in Portugal at that time, imho they sold for a very cheap amount.
