We are currently beta testing our own system for backordering global domains (com/net/org/bin/info) for 15USD. This is not for good domains (which will obciously be snapped by the big catchers), but for little value domains, especially non-English, it works quite well. In fact, we were able to beat GoDaddy backorders many times 
We are looking for people interested in testing our system. You can order any pending delete domains you want, and you don't pay anything upfront! Only when we are successful in catching your name, you will be due to pay 15USD. So this is different from e.g. GoDaddy where you must pay upfront. So, in fact, you don't lose anything when working with us
