I just received an email that someone registered 14 domain names from my wwd website dandydomain.com and each reg was for 10 years.

That raises an interesting question. I spent some time promoting the name a bit but never really got anywhere in the se's. To my knowledge, the domain name has "zero" linkpop yet it receives traffic. I can't for the life of me figure out whre the traffic comes from and how folks are finding my site. To date, I have had about 40 reg's in the past 7 days. I believe I in need of some educatation on link pop, traffic, and se's. Can someone point me to some links of previous threads here at namepros that goes into more detail about how to GET link pop, how to list effectively in se's, and what you may have done in your spare time to promote your site and that has worked well. I just find it hard to believe that I go for several months without one single customer then suddenly they are coming out of nowhere.

Thanks in advance for feedback.

DD

Hi Goldy,

Yes, something like that. More than enough to cover my investment for sure this past week. The only thing I can figure out is people are finding me in forums and such and going after my good pricing. You can't find dandydomain.com listed in top 50 at any SE but because forums are spidered perhaps people are tying in certain keywords and it is showing results from forums? Who knows. As long as it keeps up, that is all I am concerned with. :) It just "pumps" me up and makes me want to spend countless nights drinking coffee and submitting the site.

Wow, great sale! I didn't know people actually make such domain sales at once -- were they spectacular names that were registered or what? :)

Web Design Talk Forum

HI

Checking on your domain I see you have a few posts in the forum Web Design Talk , and as you said maybe some SE spidered that forum and they picked up your link that way, or people are just coming to your site via your sig,

Anyway what ever you are doing seems to be working so keep it up,

Thanks
Tom Dahne

I would be very careful most 10 year registrations are fraud(14 names at once, 10 years each is most definately fraud). Make sure the sales are legit are you could be looking at chargebacks in a month or so

Thanks for the tip, but these are indeed legit. I decided to send out a survey email asking "how they were referred to dandydomain.com etc" and it appears that they are an insurance company based out of Jackson, MS. That makes perfect sense, as I just moved to Texas last December from Jackson, MS and still do some advertising in jackson. :) As for the other reg's I have received over the course of the past week, no idea where that business comes from. I believe I am going to email the survey on a regular basis from this point forward, as this will help me determine where I need to focus the most on advertising. My motto is, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." :)
