Domainers, I beg you in the name of God avoid GoDaddy for your domain search. Or else Godaddy will steal your domain ideas if its very good and available. They are a shameless and greedy registry.

I lost two premium domains on May 28th and June 6th, 2024 to GoDaddy. Both Domains were available for hand registrations after searching my ideas on their website. I noticed GoDaddy registered each of my ideas for themselves the next day after my search was available via who.is

Why didn't you register the domains on the spot? I am cash trapped at the moment. But already planning to raise cash this month to hand reg rest of my domain ideas.

The two ideas GoDaddy stole from me were the most PREMIUM and the BEST that it's worth minimum $30k each to endusers. The two domains now point to domaincontrol.com server which is indirectly owned by Godaddy with expiry date on 2034 (wicked registry).

I would have loved to reveal both names to shame GoDaddy cause my evidence against them is very clear. But my wife advised me to be patient till I got my expected cash to hand reg the rest of my domain ideas by this month end.

GoDaddy, Shame on you!!! Terrible Registry. I will name the two domains definitely by months end. So the whole world will be aware of your theft by the time you auction the two domains in the future. Thief. I am so in pain of what you did to me. Twice registration of my domain idea search within a week by you is not a coincidence but theft. Fools

Fellow domainers, please use neutral registry like cloudfare, squarespace, alibabacloud etc for your search. Learn from my mistake.

I have been reading on web you steal very good domain ideas. I thought it was a blackmail and joke until you stole from me.

Google search shows domaincontrol.com is owned by WildWestDomains ( GoDaddy whitelabel"s reseller).

The key is to not search/research until you are ready to buy.

'Front running' happens in many situations and your searches are captured as a matter of business on many sites. Whether or not someone saw your searches in a data base and then registered the names or if it was coincidence, no one will ever know.

If you used who.is, I really don't see how you came to conclusion that godaddy was to blame. You were basically feeding your ideas to a private entity running who.is and they could to whatever they please with them (ethical aspects notwithstanding). Not saying they did, it's also possible that one of the other 8 billion people had a similar idea to yours.

There are 2 or even 3 cases that may be happened.
1. the domains you try to reg were dropped and someone else have seen them to register, go to (archive.org) and chk if any history.
2. Godaddy like many other beasts are doing Front Running to collect data of what users type in.
3. The Chromium browsers and others are the biggest spying eye of secret agencies, they see in real time what you do.
edit: p.s. not mentioning how WHOIS data was manipulated on some domains by Registry themselves to make the domains look very old.

v...........com is registered for ten years, and g.........com just for a year.
They are using different nameservers and the first one has a mail server configured, while the other does not.
To me that looks like two different entities registered these domains, but of course I might be wrong.
Since you were "doing research", I can only assume that you used some source material, such as "opencorporates.com for number of companies", which means that any of the other 8 billion people could be doing the same for similar reasons. And what about the rest of your researched domains, why weren't they stolen?

The server are both domaincontrol.com used by wildwestdomains and owned by GoDaddy for reseller purpose. How come the domains are both registered a day after search shows its available? And it both occurs within a week.

I used opencorporates.com for my research to get ideas for possible domains that may still be available for hand reg.
