I got a $125 offer on Sedo for BeachRealties.com. Does this seem like a fair offer?

gatorjrc - this sounds low to me

At least upon first impression.

You just regged the name in Sept, its decent. Take the cash, its the smart move or counter for a few bucks more. I think its a smart play for you.

you could counter 200 and hope for 150-175. show them some examples of recent sales with similar words

Tell them $1,000 (One Thousand Dollars) and stand firm to it. It is a great "marketing tool" for the beach house rental market. Trust me, there is good reason behind them wanting that particular name. If they say "No Deal," I will give you $200.00 for it.

I agree with EiJoe. Its a very good name with extremely high potential - atleast high $XXX.

No way high $xxx. I would take dentalpro's advice and counter with $200 hoping to make a $150-175 sale. Good luck!

I would not take $125, I live in Hawaii and have researched beach realty names and its tough to come up with a good .com name. Some say take the money, yes you registered it in Sept, it would be a good return on your investment. If they want it for a sight you will kick yourself later. I would offer $750, that way its not too far from either reseller or enduser prices. If it is an enduser they will swipe it up, if it is a reseller they may pass, chances are you will be able to pick up a reseller last second before the name expires- Obviously some people here see some value.

Damn, not sure what to do... I would love to get mid-high XXX for it but with my luck I hang on to it and trouble selling it later. Oh well, maybe I'll hold and take my chances.

No way this domain won't increase in value.. easily worth low xxxx in the long term. Depending on your need for the money, offer mid to high xxx.

The great thing about real estate related .com's is that you can always bring up the, "what if you got one sale from the name" argument....Think about it - the avg home in America is about 215,000k...Beach homes are usually much more expensive. A 6% commission on a 215k sale is $12,900...there would be a 50/50 split so the agent would make $6,450 (not including splits with their broker) But the fact is that ONE sale in the entire lifetime of the domain name would pay for the purchase of the name hundreds of times over (if sold at 200). If an agent is looking to brand their entire business with that name, it's WOEFULLY undervalued at $200.

You could even allow them to lease the name and pay you for any lead you aquire or a larger % of any sale that is first aggregated through use of the site - I have experience on a National level with that if you're interested (pm me). Don't worry - my advice is free.

Definitely don't do that since you have a guaranteed $200 offer for it from EiJoe. Good luck.

Good domain, terrible auction description.. you have to sell the sizzle with the steak! Dress it up and send it out.. 99.9% of a sale is about the presentation. The other .1% is sending it to the right market.

For one, tell the prospective customer why you feel the domain has value.. what are the good points about the domains in terms of market, traffic, revenue.. then also give specifics about where it's registered, pushes, time left before expiration, traffic and revenue stats.

It's just like selling anything.. only with a domain, you can't take a picture, so you have to paint one.
