Hello good people.
I'm a college student and would like to know if it's possible to make $1000 monthly from domaining?

How can I go about this?
I would appreciate your helps and suggestions. What would you advise or recommend?

Assets: $100 and Time: 3hrs daily.

Thank you.

Hi

forget the notion.

you don't have enough capital or time, to invest.

imo...

Let me elaborate…

If you study all the resources here and learn and buy well you will pickup a few ok names that have a small % chance of selling each year.

With $100 you will get roughly 3-14 names so the math says like one sale every 7-30 years.

You may make $1000 one month but it will be far from consistent for a long time.

I agree with the others. That’s essentially zero starting capital in domaining. Keepin mind that industry sell through is 1-2% annually, to make $1000 in a year, you would need a portfolio with a retail value of over $100k. It could take a very long time to reach that, and you still may make no sales.

If you spent 5-10 mins browsing the site, you'll quickly have your answer. That you decided to ask suggests you;ll have plenty more questions when you begin so nah I wouldnt recommend it for you. Can you make 1k a month? For sure but depends on the person and their schedule. Limited time requires high degree of discipline and initiative.

Oh! what would you consider a sizable starting capital?

One sale in 7-30 years?

What would you advise, for someone who is clearly financially constraints?

Probably a different side hustle.

Domain investing is a tough journey, especially with limited capital. With limited capital comes limited opportunities.

You need somewhere from 1000 to 2000 hours of consistent studying before you make $100, let alone $1000 a month.

Just to give you an analogy - going into domaining is like going into IT from zero (with an add on that you need more money for domaining). If you do not have a certain mindset or character for this, you won't succeed, best try somewhere else (there are lots of easier businesses out there). And matter of fact, domaining is not a business at all - it's a type of investment.

Best of luck, whatever you decide.

Hard, but it's possible, if you do outbound. You can make $1000, but not every month.

Hi

the more money you have, the more you have to lose...
especially when you don't know what to buy, and what not to spend your money on.

also, you might want to lower your expectations and set goals incrementally.
there are reals sharks in these waters, and they'll bite a chunk out of your wallet before you start making any money for yourself.

whatever amount you have, it needs to be expendable.
don't bet the rent, food or gas money.

might want to read this thread for instance:

imo....

Thanks a lot for this.
I guess I need to lower my expectations and hope I get lucky.

Hope you get lucky??!! Luck has nothing to do with it. It's hard work and having the right type of personality.

Get a job. Become a freelancer. Rob a bank.

No? How much time and money do I need?

You can totally *start* with $100 and 3h a day, and build from there.
But you can't make $1000 a month with these assets.
How long will it take to get from the starting point to $1000 a month depends on many factors and for some it may never happen. Take these $100, buy 2 handreg, 2 closeouts and maybe 2 domains from the forum. Try to sell them before they expire. Whatever you make from selling, invest in other domains. Build a portfolio and read, ask, learn along the way. After a year or two you should have your answer, maybe earlier if it's a "no".
