1.NF, its still mine. Please apprise.

There are only about 50 such domains in the world (single digit "1") allowed as far I know. A "1" is most easy to remember - like "no. one". Also it has this prestige value of "Nr. one".

There are also big technological advantages - this domain allows to produce 150.000.000 ver1 quick response codes (QR). F.e. other short domains like qr.gt would only allow 1.000.000, so 1-char is better than 100 2-chars. Example: http://qr.mk/example

Also .nf is hosted in New Zealand so the extension has good infrastructure and technological and political stability.

Thanks for your help.

Dont see any value in this name,

Norfolk Island has a population of around 1600 so I cant see you finding a buyer

No records of .nf sales either

You might sell it as a vanity name to a domainer but thats it...

Good luck

No value? This is a real 1 character. It is almost impossible to get one. And it is a "1". I hoped it has some 3k value. Btw. Norfolk is part of Australia.

Just because they are rare doesn't mean they are valuable. I think these names are collectors' items mostly. As Giles said, the local market is almost non-existent. Outside the island, .nf is just another exotic extension.

In theory you might be able to flip it to another reseller. But they balk at high renewal prices.

I live in Australia and have never even heard of the extension, ever seen a website using it or heard of a .nf sale

that must tell you something, hope you didn't pay much for it

Well I pay about 200 USD/year for it, but I use it as end user for a hightech project that needs shortest possible domains. I sold some of this domains, also 1 digit .nf, for 500 - 600 USD each. To many clients. So they have value. But a "1" in this case should be worth more. Also this were fast flips, i heard genrrally 1-char go above 1000$ for any exstension

That is the real problem with .nf domains. That's why it was dropped.
IMO, I'd say mid $xxx - high $xxx in a lucky day.

Thanks! Well, probably from most domainers point of view the renewal is really a problem. Your price sell range $$$ is exactly what I could sell this kind of domains as fast flips. But I hoped a "1" would bring more money since its "nr one" ;) Also with this domain I have lots of time, not planning to sell it - i hope I will never sell it. But I sold other "1" domains and now just wanted to know whats the value if it is no "fast flip", or especialliy what would be the value in 5 years.

Not long ago I posted a one letter .cr for sale, but so far no takers at just 1K.
At least Costa Rica has a small local market.

One-letter domains are cool as novelty items but I'm not sure they are that liquid.

I think you should take any mix $xxx offer you might get. If renewal price was $50 or less you could get $1k for this domain, but with high renewal price and no local market I think mid $xxx is best you can get just because it is cool and rare name.

Well, as far I know there are only about 45 ccTLDs allowing 1-characters at all or at least without hard restrictions. I also see people who bought my domains registered them for more then 10 years paying $$$$ for each domain + long renewals. It seems it will get almost impossible to get one more domain with a single "1" in future. Some companies might not be interrested in selling so the whole market might be 30 domains all over the world. Do you really think $$$ is a good price for such a rare and prestige domain. Its so cool to have an e-mail like [email protected] lol. 1.me would be better of course. But still the "1" makes the domain really sexy.

Feel free to share your previous sales with us. $200 a year is madness for an extension most people have never heard of

I heard genrrally 1-char go above 1000$ for any exstension

This is not the case, where did you hear that? It depends what extenions they are?

Also with this domain I have lots of time

You dont have a lot of time, in 5 years, that name has cost you $1000 already, so you will need to sell it for a lot more than 1K to make it worth while

Take my advice and the advice of most people on here, the name is not worth much and will just cost you money in the long run.

Good luck in the future

Well as told I use this domain as the end user. Just wanted to know what it could be worth.

My private knowledge in the pricing was 500-600$ for .nf numbers (but not a "1") and it were fast-flips. So I did not monitor the situation for long term, what surely would allow more results. One reason why I ask you experienced domainers for appraisal ;)

Btw. some clients preferred .nf over .gt, though NF has 2000+ citizens and GT has 12mln.

If a company buys this domain as end-users they will most probably have quite different criteria than resellers. One of the big plus is, .nf is hosted in New Zealand and delivers a stable tech. infrastructure. This is very important for any IT application such domains are used for.

You could sell it to a BNP nutter in England, I'm sure. They were called the National Front for years. You'd have to take sleeping pills at night though.

Most of these guys are silly. You are setting on a hundred thousand dollar name dude. It would be a quick sale at 10 k, with the right advertising.
