0% click on DH, 24% on Sedo

I think I need to move some of my stuff back to Sedo:
I have ibidubid.com, an old auction site. It gets between 45-90 uniques a day.
At Domain Hop, I had 0% click rate over two months.
At Sedo: 20-24%.

Sedo's "look" is more "believable" to the casual surfer... IMHO

I think it comes down to SEDO has a better ad inventory than Kanoodle I have some beyonce Knowles domains that average 48% CTR on SEDO did not get a click on DH because they have no ad inventory for Beyonce. I have a tv domain I put in Home theater they did not even have any ads and DOmainhop recategorized the name to SHOPPING CD/DVD. Now they have some so I switched back to home theater. Have to weigh that against finance domains I have at DH get $2 a click at SEDO .40

Another possible reason for 0% CTR at DH is the origin of your traffic - if it's non-US traffic, in most categories the vistitor clicking on your ad links gets an error message and you earn nothing.

I did check, and the vast majority was U.S. based...

I've also found this. I have a couple of typo domains that were getting nothing on DomainHop, but were getting good clickthrough at Sedo. It's the targetting (and maybe the lack of a popunder). Sedo can specifically target an ad to the keyword, where DomainHop throws anything up there they want that may fit the keyword, but usually is too generic.

About typos at DH:
A lot of times, they can't imagine the right category for the typo.
i.e. if I had cisa.com, they would not let you choose the credit card category to optimize.

And for my domain sexythongpics.com, they would not let me be in the adult category, they made be be in shopping!!

It depends on the typo. I have one for netscape and it let me pick that one as the keyword and I did get a couple of 99c clicks from it. But even real names a lot of times can't get good targets.

I think that sedo's interface looks better, so therefore the better click through rates. You should try all your names at different parking places to decide which is best.

What's unfortunate is that I think DS's layout is the worst, but it pays the best per click usually.
Sedo's might be the best, but holy cow the CPC is horrible.
DH is a nice compromise IMHO.

I find that Sedo's landing page is very fast to load, unlike DH or not even mentioning DS.

DS pays for popunder revenue, w/ or w/o clicks... which is good, because as already mentioned the CTR is lacking due to the design, IMHO.

This is a really good discussion I think you guys are all very sharp in this area. IF we could get DS or DH payout with SEDO interface and quick loading page WOW we would all do much better in PPC. IMO My experience with typos is SEDO much better and they again have the inventory I can have a name like beyoncephoto.com and get 48% ctr because they have ads unlike Kanoodle now this is because Kanoodle does not have an adwords many smaller sites so someone with a site paying me .10 a click for Beyonce photo because they have small webmasters in their program that iwll pay DH has bigger advertisers in certain categories.
