Advertising scripts?

What happened to advertising scripts?
I use to have a good one years ago. I hosted it and after buying it I never had to pay another fee.

Now all I can seem to find is scripts that are hosted and you pay them for the impressions served.

So no more buying a PHP script, setting up MYSQL, installing the script, then running your own banner ads?

Thanks. I will keep them in mind. I had found their pad one but the price is way too high for my little needs right now.

What about openx?

They have no prices listed on the site. I refuse to do business with places like that. If I pay $XXX then everyone else should pay that too. I can understand if they charge on how many impressions you will be serving with the script. But put that on the site. Whats to say someone with 50,000 impressions is paying $500 while someone with 100,000 impressions is paying $300?
