GO_DADDY 'S BOB PARSONS INKS DEAL TO BUY THE PLAYBOY MANSION
-Hugh Hefner To Relocate To Costa Rica

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (April 01, 2010) – Earlier this morning Bob Parsons, founder of Go_Daddy.com, signed a non-disclosure deal with Playboy Interprises to become the sole owner of the world famous The Playboy Mansion.

Playboy Magazine is not part of the transaction and will continue to be edited by Hugh Hefner who will be relocating operations to an estate he just bought in Costa Rica.

The Playboy Mansion , located in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles on 5.3 acres of land, boasts 29 rooms and includes a wine cellar, game room, tennis courts, swimming pool, zoo, pet cemetery, waterfall and much more.

Famous for it's lavish parties, Bob Parsons said that is a tradition he will continue.

Mr.Parsons plans to use the mansion for Go_Daddy Girl photo shoots and will host conferences for the Domain industry.

I always thought Bob Parsons would fill Hefner's shoes and it looks like he is trying them on now. I can see him doing this for sure. It's just a matter of time before he buys the magazine also. Good move/invest IMO.

This sort of thing does not help me place trust in GoDaddy's brand - but perhaps that's because I'm from the UK where we see no GD advertising or anything :P

Just to be clear in case there is any confusion, it was an April Fools joke.

I agree with ComKind.

I can also see Bob Parsons following in Hugh Hefner's footsteps which is why I thought
it could be believable that he would buy the Playboy Mansion.

Hey, even GoDaddy Girls need somewhere to go. :D

Yeah I just don't understand the whole Godaddy girls thing - yeah it's advertising but how is it relevant?

Those types of commercials were great to launch GoDaddy.com into the spotlight, but I think it is about time GoDaddy.com grows up a bit with advertising.

The Google commercial during the SB was probably the most effective. It was very basic but told the story. I think a commercial from GD that explained the benefits of a domain name would be more effective at this point.
