This is from a post that carried me off and drifted me f-a-r away from the original topic :
While OSbL is gagging on his 4th of July hot dog and suffocating in his own hatred- a hatred that is so strong that it compels him to urge his brothers to fight and murder one another; for mothers and fathers to send their children off with bombs wrapped around their young bodies; a hatred that has forced him to spend the waning years of his life like a wary rat, glancing to and fro- over his shoulder and back again- a destiny that has called upon him to peer at the world from the edge of the shadows that are cast down from the walls that form his cell, that is hidden inside a prison, that is hidden inside an enclave that, by necessity, is hidden, away from a living, vibrant, and colorful world that is filled with the activities and visions and sounds of love, laughter and lifes foibles. A hiding place, devoid of human touch and moved away from the eyes of man and the pulse of the world- tucked stealthly and silently away in a recess, deep inside one of earths armpits.
While the most despised man on earth sits alone, within his own illusions that squirm around inside a larger world of deluded fantasy- face filled with that, now infamous, gleeful, "it went better than I thought it ever would have. Look at them fall", smile- a smile that belies the self-satisfied narcisicism that his followers confuse w/ an endearing quality of their holy man- a man that is worthy of them sacrificing their lives for him. While this man who would be martyr sits and meditates and plots, and schemes, yet, another hatred-driven atrociity, I will be in the fresh air- choosing to come or to go- w/, barely, a care in the world, freely and openly enjoying the festivities and celebrationg the principles and ideals that this day has been set aside, in my country, for it's people to honor. And, despite the clouds- depite knowing that we have lived with an imperfect government that, throughout the years, has, at times, gotten lost in the self-interest of it's leaders- leaders. who have not, always, reflected our wishes, the will of "we, the people"- imperfect leaders who have often acted in ways that have been contrary to our interests, have infringed upon the rights and gone against the best interests of members of the world community, men and woman who have acted in ways that we never would have expected, suspected or intended for them to act- those who have performed actions that have run contrary to what they had promised us and what they had led us to believe when we elected them- despite all of the ills that spring out of human nature and that touch the governments of all men- despite all of the clouds of today and of years gone past- the principles have remained steadfast- the principles and ideals that they were based upon, continue to temain true and continue to form the foundation for what we believe in and what we are celebrating today. And, lest I forget, throughout the course of it's history, this country that we are celebrate in, today, and the actions of the people over the past 230 years, have given us, it's citizens, a hell of alot more to be proud of than to be ashamed about.
Happy 4th to everyone, throughout, the world! You are invited to celebrate, along w/ us, the basic tenants that we believe in- universal truths that are represented by a simple set of principles that all rational people can agree upon: We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness..
