Registerfly Suspended My Account: Resolved

Yesterday I opened an account with Registerfly.com, registered 1 domain name and deposited $50 in the account to register some more domains later.

The next day (today) I'm ready to register some more domains with them using the $50 pre-paid into the account. So I login and I get an error message right away that reads exactly:

------------------------------
"Your account has been placed into restricted mode by our Risk Prevention team. To remove the restriction you will need to do the following:

Contact us at [email protected] for further details about why your account is in restricted mode, please include your userid in all communications
If you are suspended due to non-payment, you will need to pay the past due balance and submit proof of payment before your account is enabled
Further information(If available) appears below:

Account suspended 03/25"
-------------------------------

Why is this bad? All features of my account are completely disabled. I cannot view the one domain I have. I can't view to see if the funds are ok. I can't view anything. So what do I do?

I contact 24/7 Live Sales Chat and find out they have absolutely no idea why it's suspended, what I can do to unsuspend it, and they can't even close the account cancelling out the $50 pre-paid. It's sales only, they can't help with anything else.

So I call 24/7 Customer Service at (845) 586-5300 and they can't help me, they say the only ones that know why it was suspended are at [email protected]. And they close in around 30 minutes and are closed on the weekends also, just my luck.

So I send them an e-mail, and wait, no response. I send a few other e-mails, no response. Finally I send the last e-mail, telling them If they don't know or can't resolve it before the weekend, please at least let me know so I can register my domains somewhere else. And cancel the $50 pre-paid, and close the account.

-----------------------------------

So here I am, sharing this story with you guys. I can already see where this is going to go. I bring this up here, hoping that someone here can tell me what reasons a Registrar could possibly suspend/freeze an account.

And I also post this as an obvious warning. That Registerfly can suspend your account, that's funded and has domains and give you absolutely no reason or warning first.

And when you email them, no response. How do they do it?

I don't see any reason they would suspend your account, unless there was a possible credit card issue.

Did you use a credit card to fund your account?

"regfly" is a member here, and part of their service/support team. Try contacting him. He's helped out other customers here, and seems like a very nice guy.

Have you checked with your Bank/CC company ? - They may have blocked the Transfer for some reason (It does happen from time to time for no major reason) - and maybe Registerfly didn't receive the funds ~

In either case and as stated by Allan , I'd try contacting Regfly - He's a member Rep here ~

Good Luck ~

If you have a new account and made a larger deposit our risk dept may question it and ask for more information. Our risk dept reviews every transaction so they may have flagged it for the aforementioned reason.

PM me with your userid and I can look into it and try to get it resolved for you.

This is an awesome message board, what can I say. I did PM it to you RegFly and appreciate any help in possibly resolving this.

I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this somewhere.

I found this on the registerfly site.

(View Available Questions/Answers for topic - Account Restricted/Risk)
https://registerfly.com/kb/?mode=item&id=2007&articleid=12912

There are only 3 topics, and the first one doesn't apply, I don't get a country code error. And the last one doesn't apply, because my domain hasn't been moved to fraud. So this can be the only obvious explanation.

Question
I attempted to use my card to purchase services (domains, renewals) and I was locked out of my account

Answer
This can happen if you trip a threshold of our real-time fraud system. When this occurs please send an e-mail to [email protected] and provide your userid. Our risk dept will review your account and enable the account quickly

--------------------------------

I sure hope my account won't be shut down everytime I deposit $50 or more in it. What's the trigger point? $30? $50? Or maybe it happened just because the account is new.

I'm sure it won't. I have made several deposits of $100-200 and not had a problem. The "triger point" is likely that you had a new account and then made a large deposit.

Thanks Regfly

UPDATE:

The reason why it was flagged was because I abbreviated my name in the whois system with A. A. and used a yahoo e-mail address. The combination scored high with registerfly's risk software.

NamePro's forum member "Regfly" through his contacts, resolved this issue, the account is now completely reactivated and a temporary password was created that I changed and I'm now good to go!

Registerfly.com once again rocks! And user Regfly deserves some serious NP$ and maybe even moderator/admin status priveleges! Please donate a few NP$ to him if you've learned anything new from this today or think it's absolutely amazing that one member met on a message board could resolve an issue that 5+ emails, and talking to numerous reps at a company can't!

Thanks Regfly
