Maybe, but there is a lot of action (as you know) in short domains with "alternative/less loved" extensions very recently, such as .co. I just don't know if that action will extend to .io or not.

Most .io startup use single short words, often a playful brandable simple word. Ice.io is particular strong from a linguistically point of view, the repeating i and vouwels. But most important this could be a strong conceptual brand for many tech businesses. Especially thinking about data storage (conservation).

don't get your hopes up with NN.io or NNN.io - I have spoken to a few chinese buyers and there is no interest, they have no use or hard to market for them in .io; save your bread and butter.

well .io is recognized by google as a TLD.. I am not sure about .to

if you check the actual urls for NN .to you can see most of them are registered by chinese even back since '97

I own less than 15 x io which most is LLL.io for the future VR space for longer term investment. .io is used mostly in the tech space and I believe VR will be a good fit for it in a few years. IMO

However today I registered 2 x numeric domains longer than usual as I think there could be some ROI to be made...

I believe most sales at the moment with numerics and pinyin domains are traded amongst domain investors, so i tend to look at future trends and who are registering certain domains. I agree Jason.TV the Chinese have registered numeric .io extentions and have recently bought out .co & .org pinyin which I never though would happen in the .org extension. There a chance .io will do okay at least for ROI?

Google treats .io extremely well; perhaps better than others, google "Draw" look at the first result.
