correct, but Google keeps https://books.google.com as a website name instead of Books Google.Google don't remove .com from serps.
Not all sites have .com removed.
Google, simply, present the brand name, not the URL.
If you investigate further, you'll notice that only the big sites (aka established, aged, with MANY backlinks) have this new presentation in serp results.
Due to my work, to be honest, are months that big G presents the URL in that way.
And I discover more... If your site is SUPER, google can change the URL completely.
Example:
domain is losagelesplumbers247 -> G writes: LA Plumbers.
As domainer I am not happy to see this but google give less importance to domain names here after year.
over 90% of people/businesses use Google though.....I use DuckDuckGo.com
And the environmentally conscious use Ecosia but that doesn't stop Google being the choice of almost everyone else.I use DuckDuckGo.com
i used ddg before it has bad updating not so powerful as Google crawling.I use DuckDuckGo.com
this move is great for not-com brands.
e. g. I would never click on .ac.uk domain but Google force me to doing this.

Opera browser, Google search engine, tablet huawei /androidWhen I search "YouShare". I also see the .ac.uk as the first result with the full domain name on my phone and desktop. The most recent core update for google search is actually supposed to show the full domain name in the title of the search item. Not sure how you're seeing it without the ac.uk.

.....I always find this a dangerous thing for Google to play with because the domain is still a good way to identify the legitimacy of a website for many people.
