whenever you want to purchase something, you need to go through all the junk offers of extra interfaces. I am not happy about that but I am used to it already. However now when I tried to change my DNS, it started giving me that stupid offers, is there anyway to bypass that so that I don't have to read and click through?

Someone has to file a lawsuit to accuse godaddy of causing Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Unfortunately when you acquire domains you often have to accept a push (thanks to the 60-day godaddy lock™) so we have to cope with them.

However, I was surprised by the new pop-ups for changing DNS and particularly by the default 5 years registration already pre-selected when registering a new domain.
Mine's only 1 year. I think it was changed by using a buyer profile, something like that. Might be worth looking into, especially if you buy enough that it will save you some time and potential extra years.

However, the default is still 2 years on renewals, I think.

Exactly, Don't use them. Transfer your names away from them. If enough of us do this perhaps they will listen? It will come one day that enough people will see that they have been had by poor everything. It it a classic example of the biggest being the worst.

My peace and santity are definately worth more than saving $1 each time I reg a name with Godaddy !!

Agreed - although I dont really let their interface bother me. It has always been fairly fast for me actually when I use FF.

As long as their site loads pretty quickly for me in the future I will def still use them to save some money.

donq,

where did you see this "do not show this message again option"? Somehow I missed it the second time.

Anyway like that evil microsoft product, you hate it or you
don't want to use microsoft, in the end you still need to use it because a lot
of people are using it.

That was irritating the bejeebers out of me. I kept getting three option boxes and having to click the middle option "set name servers" However, the last time I did it I noticed a "do not show this message again option" It is not obvious and only just caught my eye. Hope that helps.

If I remember rightly, it was above the three option boxes - the three that are shown after you have entered the nameservers. I ticked the box so I can't access it again to be more specific. It is easy to miss becasue it took four nameserver changes before I noticed it.

Not only is the interface terrible, but the site is SLOW. It's like a dial-up nightmare.

I'd agree. Hate GoDaddy, 1001 up sells and an INCREDIBLY slow site.

Awful

I only use godaddy because they have decent coupons. I prefer dynadot, as it's user friendly and simple.

It appears they just added a one-step-to-checkout "Express Search" (homepage, just below normal domain search).

Their control panel is the type of programming design I call "javascript hell!"

Most of the names I register there get transferred elsewhere at their first renewal date.

Every time I login I think they've added a new gradient-javascript-menu-advertisement to the dcc. It's got to the point where there's so much junk, only about 5 domains fit on the screen at at time.

It's not too bad though, because I've only got 10 domains left with them.

ya godaddy has a horrible interface, but I trust them & they have good customer service.

hopefully they will eventually redo their interface.

Personally it does not matter how annoying it gets, i will most likely stay there as I have been with them for so long etc. Unless they did something drastic like significantly inflate their prices or something.

you are right, this is only for new domain reg, wish there is express checkout
for other functions.

Godaddy is so slow. I wanted to transfer one of my domain to them but ended to send it to name.com as it has a faster interface. Seriously they need to do something about their interface. I even left a review about GD after I was so pissed when I coudn't even load to change my domain's DNS at http://www.namepros.com/3322810-post287.html

What really pisses me off with SlowDaddy is that they know their site is ridiculous sloooooooow, they are aware that a lot of customers are pissed about all their promotions which slows the site up more. Yet they do nothing about it, they just keep advertising to sign up new unsuspecting customers to their nightmare. They totally ignore the customers they have.

I am sure if all of us Domainers transferred out all of our names they would listen and do something about it. SlowDaddy would be OK the way it is at present if you had 1 name with them, but if you have many it is a big problem. I just hate having to go to their website, a simple transaction takes forever to complete.

I have about 23 days left in my lockup which they they decided was in my best interest for security, they said. All I did was change my address, not my name, not my email, just my f***ing address, so they lock me down for 60 days and I cannot transfer to a decent Registrar. Well at the end of this quarantine My 280 or so names will be gone from them, I have transferred close to a 100 already before they locked my account for 60 days.

If you hate SlowDaddy as much as I do and you see that they make no attempt to rectify the problems with there interface and rules, then join me and many others that are leaving them.

SlooooooooooowDaddy Sucks!!

Slowdaddy<dot>com has been taken for several years now ;) It was passed around for a while ... Don't recognize the current owner off hand.

I agree with everyone - It's too complicated in the first place ... My favorite registrars aren't the cheapest , But the ones with the simplest control panels. Get in and get out without building their "Impression" count 10 fold. Who needs 50 in page frames and 50 scripts running at the same time to change nameservers - or change owners ? I hate it and only bother with it when I win a domain on tdnam for the most part now.

How about goslowdaddy[.]com :hehe: It's available.
I think it caused by connection from my country in fact that many of you also feel how slow their system.
I've ever try to change the nameserver one of my domain and always fails. Takes 2 days to be able doing this successfully. sucksdaddy :(
