Where are people parking their previously Bodis parked names?
GiantPanda, Above, ParkingCrew, Parklogic? Sedo? Are there others?
It's worthwhile that you bring this up, because the situation has actually become quite problematic.

During my DS‑record investigation on December 22nd of last year, I also examined a dataset of 5,398 domains that were using Bodis nameservers. I've now rechecked every domain in that sample, and the current state is concerning.

A significant number of those domains (2,222 in total) still list ns1.bodis.com and ns2.bodis.com as their nameservers, even though those servers no longer respond. As a result, these domains are effectively non‑functional, and it appears that their owners will not notice or take corrective action. And what makes this even more troubling is that new domains are still being configured with Bodis nameservers today.

For the remaining domains in my Bodis sample set, the nameservers have shifted as follows.

Afternic is the clear winner.

Afternic 1,490
Above 827
Dynadot 168
ParkLogic 140
Spaceship 117
Giant Panda 99
Name.com 80
NamePros 67
Sedo 46
Name-Services.com 34
Aftermarket.com 25
GD DomainControl 14
Porkbun 14
Cloudflare 9
Atom 6
DNS Owl 5
Efty 4

and a few others

Given that my sample dataset covers only 5,398 domains, it's safe to assume the real scope of the issue is far larger. This sample already shows a significant failure rate, so the total number of affected domains across the full (ex-) Bodis footprint must be substantial.

Hi

in the interest of ppc parking only, could you differentiate between whether a lander is used or ppc page with ads, in the results of those platforms?

tks

imo….

That would be a great insight. Unfortunately I cannot provide that information, as I've only analyzed NS settings for these domains.

There was a time when Bodis was considered a great platform to have your domains for sale on. A lot of users used them to sell domains and not to use the parking services.

Imo, that's why so many switched to Afternic.

By terminating their nameservers almost immediately after the notice, Bodis created unnecessary disruption and acted irresponsibly.

imo...

@Future Sensors ,
I feel there is more to the whole thing with Bodis.

First we saw the abrupt stop in communication. Then came the rushed notification that, in just a few days, all services would stop.

What I found most unexpected though is why there was no apparent effort to explore other channels like everyone else did.

As far as I can recall, they have never showed irresponsibility before, why now?

Agree. And the "next chapter" thing in the announcement is still unclear.

Anyone?

Hi

I must have missed that part about a “next chapter”.

These are host objects for Bodis nameservers that are not currently in active use, and the IPs are placeholders rather than real operational addresses.

(1.1.1.1 is Cloudflare's public DNS resolver)

"On Friday, Feb 6, AFD was removed from our delivery stack. This change has made traffic delivery much, much faster, but also removes a filter we used to count traffic. As a result, you will likely see traffic counts differ from historic norms on many domains. Revenue stats are either unaffected or, in some cases, positively affected, but RPMs may look worse."

GiantPanda traffic has spiked dramatically. Revenue stats have declined dramatically.
Parklogic has seen an increase in their nameserver count. Anyone here using them?

GiantPanda / ParkLogic / Above / ParkingCrew / RollerAds:
cannot compete without AFD.
Very far from Bodis performance of some years ago.
Now it's difficult even to cover renewal fee.
It's only a waste of time and money with the current RPMs.

Forget about parking revenue, because these days it's practically nonexistent; it doesn't even cover renewal costs. I've always used Sedo, and right now the RPM with them is 0.02. And with Giant Panda it's even worse, getting over 10,000 sessions for just 2 cents. It's more cost-effective to create a landing page with a little info and add any pop-up ad, and it'll give you more profit than any existing parking offers.

Correct... Domain title is always capitalized. We'll likely have some customization options at some point, but it's not a priority at the moment.
