I think they said not interested because you showed them only one sale?
Probably thought. "oh. you only showing us one sale? One comp?"
maybe if you showed them the "orgy" of sales it implies you can sell this domain to anyone as there is a huge market for it not just one sale.
with that said. you can then say nicely. "Thank you. No worries I am confident I can sell this domain for my asking price since it is cheap compared to past sales for similar domains as I have shown you."
That's a better position to be in than having shown just one comp for $1250 for LiveInPhiladelphia.com
As you left it, kind showed them you are in a position of desperation. Never a good look.
Always look confident and that you don't need someone's money. People will respect you more and seriously consider your decent price expectation.
think like a realtor who is representing a buyer of a house that's in an area where only one house has sold in the past for only $1250.
Do you think he will accept a $1000 price tag in that same "area"?
he has no motivation in buying right now as you have not convinced him of the urgency of buying this domain NOW for $1000.
now he's got all the balls in his court. he has the luxury of waiting you out to counter way lower than your asking price.
As a rule never give your target price because you will always be negotiated down. You should always expect that.
you tell someone your domain is $1 in their mind they will expect they can get it for 50 cents.
This is how people think.
Most times it's the "big man" complex. The "big man" wants to squeeze and bend the seller to the price he wants to pay and the threat is always the "walk away". So always leave plenty of room for the "big man" complex.
Sure a high price might turn off most buyers but what choice do you have? if the people you are dealing with don't have the "big man" complex you could always drop the price drastically as needed.
but once you set your price. it's over. you can't ask for above it and you are almost guaranteed 9 times outta 10 to be negotiated down from your asking price. even if it's $1.
People always tell me I overprice my domain. But if I price my domain to "Sell" 9 times outta 10 people will try to bring your price down even if you feel it's already a fair price.
It's very annoying when you price your domain at say $1000 or $2000 or $3500. A fair price for the most part. These are the prices for most of HugeDomains.com's inventory. Yet people will get stuck at offering just $500 or $1000.
Not for nothing. but if you are in a rush to sell and if $1000 is your target. You might get close to the price by sending the domain to auction given the stats I gave you.
The stats are pretty strong in my opinion. I'm sure others will disagree.
I remember a domainer
@Ali on here several times have sold domains for thousands via auctions by pointing out the stats similar to what I gave you.
Sent it to auction and gave stats sold for thousands via auction.
Of course he did it because he has a good following on Social Media and the domain industry.
Good luck!
