Is this a fairly new thing with the wave of new gTLD's? It seems some like .top only have a few whereas others like .club monopolizes all their premium names with high dollar premiums. Within the past month I just started to take a look at the new gTLD's. Previously I've only been invested in .com,.net .org .info and .biz. - those I know still don't have hand reg premiums.

What do you mean by premiums? Registry premium? If you're willing to invest hundreds per ngtld, that money could be well spent on .coms.

Just do you know, you don't get premium domains in the new gtld's. You can get good single keywords in a new gtld, but that doesnt make it a premium domain.

Ok for example Teach.club recently dropped and is available for hand reg @ a price of $309.66 at Dynadot. Now if you want to hand reg TeachMeNow.club the price is only $1.99. You will see this premium with most single word dictionary names for .club when they drop.

Also take a look at this screenshot I took from NameSilo during checkout for teach.club. They give info about premium registrar domains at the bottom.

As I said, those are registry premium prices. The central registry decides on the price, so registrars have no choice but to charge even more for that.

Right so I’m wondering which of the new extensions charge premiums for most of their dictionary words? It seems .club has a ton more than .top. What about the original TLD’s? Do any of them have registrar premiums now too?

Go to a registrar which supports many tlds, like 101domain and type in a word. You will see all the available ones and you will see if they charge a premium price or not.

Hi

though the registry may charge a premium price...
many of these one word names are not Premium, when combined with certain gtld's

for instance, to me, "teach.club" isn't premium, because for that extension, "teachers.club or teaching.club" would be more appropriate or grammatically correct

whereas "teach.com" would fetch a premium price in aftermarket

so, when looking at words, consider how the word or words and the extension sound together, and whether they make sense as a pair or phrase.

imo...
