Offering for sale TheHempBox.com - a monthly subscription box with hemp and CBD samples.
HempBox is not yet trading but I have completed most of the work needed to get it to the launch stage. The business has a pre-revenue value, assuming a $5,000 investment, of around $50k. Two-year revenue is forecast at close to $1.2 million.
In reality, the investment needed can be close to zero, depending on how you want to run with it. It could easily be run as a side gig or a full time business.
The COGS (the boxes themselves and shipping) run at around $10 so with a subscription price of $45 you make $35 on each box. Obviously you then need to factor in marketing, hosting, time spent etc.
There are three suppliers who are very interested in sending products free of charge, along with several more who are tentatively interested. I also got a call from Elixinol (probably the biggest CBD producer) yesterday and they may be interested. There's certainly enough to fill the first couple of months.
With no real marketing (just a half-dozen tweets) the site has had 208 uniques in the past 30 days, mostly driven by organic search.
There are 43 confirmed, double-opted-in newsletter subscribers since about mid-April.
The domain is registered with GoDaddy and the site itself is built on WordPress with Mautic as the backend email marketing and automation platform.
I had it listed on a domain marketplace to see what interest it might get and had one offer of $3,750 in August.
I declined as at the time I wasn't ready to sell. Since then my health has deteriorated and I'm looking to move on from this venture to spend more time with my family.
This definitely isn't your run of the mill site. It has the potential to be a big business if marketed and run correctly. The CBD market is forecast to reach a value of $2.1 billion over the next two years, with $450 million form hemp-derived products.
The buyer will receive the domain, site, Mautic installation and all contacts, along with the business plans and various strategy documents. Domain will be pushed to your GoDaddy account and I will provide the site and backend as backups for you to install on your own server / host.
