I saw an interesting topic on the forum and unfortunately it was closed before I could respond.
https://www.namepros.com/threads/transparency-when-it-comes-to-ignoring-people.1093254/

Now this topic is a bit different because it poses this question...

How long do you ignore other members if they annoy you?

I am a business man so I always end up taking other members off my ignore list once the situation is resolved or the member no longer bothers me. In the end I am in the business of buying and selling domains so it would be foolish for me to get my knickers in a knot and pass up on an opportunity based upon niceties and innuendos.

Anyone else like me or do you keep other members on ignore indefinitely?

@equity78 - what about you?

In my opinion..business and emotion don't mix. If I let my emotions get the better of me doing business with someone than I am at a disadvantage! "Ignoring' someone is being emotional...

Always did wonder, what would happen on a auction when a person that being ignored bids on the same auction and a few other situations come to mind..

Probably been "ignored" but I haven't "ignored" any member...

Don't get me wrong,I do ignore people in real life but majority of them, I sure wouldn't invite to my home, or let them in..

I have never placed anyone on ignore since I have been here. I was a mod for a long time so I felt I certainly couldn't do that in case someone needed help.

I have never really felt the need to ignore anyone, I generally stay out of threads on topics I have 0 interest in.

You? I would think the original king of namepros would never have anyone on ignore, you couldn't do it as an admin for so many years. But I do love the there ain't no going back. Good to see you out here.

HaHa, of course a that is the German way :xf.laugh:

Efficiency first :notworthy:

I can't do it though because I have done business with members who annoyed me.

Make me a lowball offer, I sent you on ignore, now they can't make a higher offer.

Like you said, I couldn't ignore people before, so the ability to do so now is a small luxury.

I would never say never on un-ignoring people, but there's enough activity on here to keep me occupied on a daily basis without having to un-ignore peeps that I don't enjoy. IMO, if I can filter out posts by people that annoy me, or sellers I wouldn't want to deal with anyway, then it makes my browsing experience better and gives me more time to see other sales or discussions. I recommend it. (y)

Yes but compared to a regular member,an admin/mod has more options than "ignore"...

a low ball offer wouldn't want me to ignore anybody

I have set people on ignore, who are full of hate
and people who are obvious spammers
and people who are posting nothing but BS

no need to rewind
