How about a simple rule that states you need to have a name and an amount.

So you don't end up with useless threads like:

We all know if you leave either the name or amount out, it very well could be bs, somebody just making stuff up.

We've noticed that a similar discussion has taken place in recent sales report threads that don't include the domain name, so we're in the process of moving all relevant posts to their own discussion thread:

We're happy to listen to the feedback and thoughts of everyone on this topic, but it doesn't make sense for the conversation to be spread across dozens of sales report threads.

We will actively monitor this thread and decide whether a rule should be instated based on the feedback received.

What details, at a minimum, should a seller be required to share?

I agree
keep it simple

minimum = name + sale price

then any extra info optional, but very welcome

Maybe the forum should use this as an example of why there should be some minimum rules with regarding reporting and posting sales;

1. Full name and extension
2. Transfer of funds and name have been fully complete (no pending or waiting for seller to pay, etc)
3. Price or range is expressed (either $5,000 or $x,xxx)

I think only two things are really required here, the full domain and the price.

There are sales threads for both partial details and full disclosure, aren't there?

What sellers should not do is post false information.

Yes all that matters is the name and the the sale price.

Make two fields that have to be filled out when creating a thread in that forum, one for the domain name and one for the amount in USD. The domain field will be checked for a valid domain name. This way you can have a specific format for the thread titles, which also helps reduce misleading titles.

As many have stated already, Domain Name (a must), Price & Sale Venue. More info means more for us to go thru and value the sale as a legitimate one.

Everyone seems to agree that the sale price and full domain name should be reported in a new sales report thread, but there seems to be some disagreement on whether the venue needs to be included.

Please discuss your opinions on the venue being included or excluded.

Including the venue is just as important, it is important on so many levels.

The thing is, some just don't like "rules & requirements"

I agree with @urlurl that venue should be kept as optional. That actually don't make much difference if the name and amount is shared. As Sedo and Afternic report your sales if even you don't unless paid some % to keep it private which rarely happens.

Domain name - compulsory
Price - compulsory
Venue - optional
Holdtime - optional

Hi @Dave , thank you for the question.

I'll give you an example: remember when a Crypto domain sold here at NP for $16,000+? wasn't that valuable information? I didn't know such sales happen here, now I do. Because they said "Sale was made through NP"

So many venues out there, when mentioned it helps us understand how that venue is performing etc..

I know the info could be found elsewhere & believe me i'll look for it. I just would like to see it in the sales report here.

Never said it should be mandatory, thats up to the management.

Just said its important. my opinion
