FCC Ignores Americans' Wishes, Identity Thefts To Repeal Net Neutrality--But It's Not Over Yet

Mr. X, who trusts cable companies, thinks this is good news. Just not most Americans, tech companies, smart people etc.

The onus to police the industry from engaging in anti-competitive behavior has fallen on the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for years (along with the Department of Justice’s own oversight). The FCC’s repeal plans to restore jurisdictional authority to the FTC.

Mobs are stupid.

No, just a sucker. You actually trust a cable company.

Poll: 83 percent of voters support keeping FCC's net neutrality rules

Mobs are stupid.

You already linked to that. I see picture of bought and paid for people by the cable companies.

Tech companies, people, aren't mobs that are stupid. People who trust cable companies are, that would be you and 17% of Americans.

1998 I paid $1,500 a month for 750 kbs.
2003 I paid $750 for 1.5 mbs.
Today I pay $40 /month for 10 mbs. I love cable.

Today we have Net Neutrality, are you that dense? Do you think that will go down or up? I love cable as well, do you love paying more for it? You do understand more people are cutting the cord right? Does that hurt or help cable companies? I'll give you a clue, hurt. And do you think they're going to make up for it somewhere?

You're such a drama queen. Go read the Microsoft anti-trust case. https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/cases-proceedings/012-3240/microsoft-corporation-matter

There are better remedies than nationalizing the Internet.

Everything isn't a life or death decision. Just because people have a different idea on how to achieve similar goals doesn't make them stupid or evil.

Why are you linking to some case from 2002, that you didn't read.

There are better remedies, yet you love your low cost cable today under Net Neutrality.

Again, do you think those costs are going to go up or down?

Yes, trusting cable companies is stupid. They are one of the most least trustworthy businesses out there.

Unlike you, I was alive and old enough to pay attention in 1998 and 2002. I was also alive when Bell System was broken up.

The price will go down, just like the cost of Internet access on my phone.

Why will the price go down, knowing they're losing money with cord cutting.

If they're charging X now, they benefit how by charging less than X? Why would they support something where they would be charging less? Or is it more likely they would support something that brings more money in?

The price may indeed go down, and quality of service downwards too.

Well, I'm sure liberals will light their hair on fire and run in circles if it does. FYI, net neutrality would mean less Internet if selling bandwidth became unprofitable.
