Has anyone used the GoDaddy Backorder service? What's your opinion?

Over the past few years, I've caught quite a few names with DropCatch, NameJet, SnapNames, and Pheenix. I've become quite comfortable with those platforms and their pros/cons. But what about GoDaddy Backordering? Has anyone tried it? Pros? Cons?

Just curious whether it's worth my time.

Compared to the big boys, gd drop catching service is not that good and definitely not worth your time. In addition, the fact that you have to pay upfront for the DC service makes it all the more unattractive for domainers.

It's hardly worth debating.

Don't waste your time or $ on it.

There are probably a half dozen threads already on here about that.

Yes if the catch is unsuccesful you are left with a credit you can only spend on another Godaddy dropcatch attempt on another name.

Not a fast catcher, doesn't ever beat the others afaik,

Never had success with it, maybe only use it when the domain is expiring at godaddy

I have caught several domains with it but they were not competitive - to me it only makes sense if you think the domain is not competitive but you are busy at drop time and can't hand register it yourself at that time.

Yes i caught one domain like that which i thought it will drop anyway (not competitive) but then i got a drop catching software which i use for this purpose - sorry for saying never had success with it. i just meant competitive domains

If a domain is important to me I backorder it everywhere, no risk in doing so but risk in not doing so

if someone is an active buyer at godaddy's expired auctions, it makes sense to use godaddy backorders. if it misses catching a domain, you can just use it for a different expired domain.

I used two backorders there yesterday. I estimate doing so saved me about $15.

GoDaddy backorders cannot beat any other drop catcher. They cannot even beat a hand reg. I have tried them a few times. Every time, I was able to hand reg the domain before GD's backorder kicked in. So it's only for lazy people who cannot be bothered to hand reg domains. Unless things have improved recently. Which I doubt.

Indeed !! That's my experience with them also.
In the past i could use it also for domains in auction or after auction-Aftermarket. But the last times I tried that, that didn't succeed anymore.

Can you explain me how this works (what you write in the first sentence especially ?) Please PM me.
Thanks in advance.
