Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
In less than 3 years external PCs will be obsolete or something small enough to strap to your arm. No long tern value in names related to this sort of thing unfortunately. I have about 8 VR PC related names...just more wasted money on speculative domaining lol..

I just love your crystal ball. may I ask which model are you using? is it the latest X55N? I love it a lot!

anyway.. all our bs and jokes aside.. don't be too harsh on yourselves... for all domaining is speculative... there is just better and worse gambles... the ones with more chance to pay.. and the ones with less. vr domainers hope they are part of the former category.

whosoever does not like to speculate, should immediately quite domaining. completely.

Well, I don't really see the smartphone replacing the PC in the top end graphics demanding area anytime soon.
But I will note my previous statements that the Bottom Up approach normally will beat out a Top Down Approach. And I expect that the HMD will become a plug-in device to the smartphone over inserting it into some plastic. So you could in effect wear it on your sleeve.

But in the larger picture, it is quite good enough for what the masses will be wanting to do with a portable device that they already carry with them.

A smartphone, a VR Adapter and a 3dvrcam will be the choice for the masses/majority for the first few years anyway.

While Pc's may get smaller I don't see external pc's going away. Even with the advent of VR Sitting in one place will eventually be a option especially once tech gets to the Point its affordable and does more then just a few thing's. It's in development. Also even if portable Using vr could be dangerous if used in a public place.A tip some type of collision detection for VR as in like a site name may be worth investing in now.

absolutely agree!
nothing is going away. everything is just changing and transforming. but those who do not have eyes, cannot see.

well... I do not own the latest crystall ball model like some on here.. but I used mine a few months ago to reg

VRcollision .com

now that you mention it..

it's a fun keyword. even more fun on a promo reg haha.
cheers

I think this domain is going for the reference or use of "backpacks" in a more "travel" capacity as in "going Backpacking" where you travel the world and all you have is a backpack. which means probably this domain should be singular to sound cooler. as in BackpackVR.com

'No Man's Sky' Should Be PlayStation VR's Flagship Title

no-mans-sky-1940x1098.jpg

This week, there’s been a bit of a weird news cycle regarding No Man’s Sky, the upcoming space exploration title from Hello Games. Kotaku reported that their sources said the game was being delayed, the writer of that scoop got death threats from the community, and then the rumor was quietly confirmed the next day by the developer. You know, typical video game stuff.

The game has been knocked out of June and pushed back to August 9th, prompting many to speculate on the cause of the delay, which hasn’t been discussed in either the official announcement, nor even the behind-the-scenes scoop.

I got VirtualRealityComputers.com
cool I've got

VRPCHeadset.com
VRPCHeadsets.com

I think that "PC" or the "computer" will eventually be packaged into the headset. That's where the true money will be for a developer. not in creating a software that must use a mobile carrier.in which this scenario that mobile carrier and the mobile phone maker makes the bulk of hardware sales.

Why wait 3 years. I think they call them smartphones. And their power is doubling every 18 months.
And the next gen of them later this year will be much more powerful than your old WinXP era machines.
But with GPU's that rival PC's of the past few years.

Smartphones won't be ready for console level gaming anytime soon. I think my 3 years or less estimate is more realistic.

JMHO but I think the Galaxy Note 6 and the PS4.5 will be pretty comparable if it ever makes it to market.
I'm not hoping anyone will loose in this, just the writing on the wall as I see it.
And I will leave it at that.

LOL you think that we'll be seeing console /PC level graphic processing on a galaxy note within the next year?? Keep dreaming.

Getting to be alphabet soup with VR but I meant Note 7 (not 6) and at no time did I mention PC.
Except that it will probably never exceed PC graphics a few posts ago.
Not sure why, when some disagree with what I say, you resort to injecting something I did not say.
There are no winners of a argument, just different points of view.

I doubt we'll even see PS4.5 level graphic processing on a galaxy note 7@VRdommy

I said console /PC because they're both superior by comparison to any smartphone that we'll see for at least the next couple years. A console practically speaking IS a gaming PC. So it makes sense that you'd change your statement about the Note 6.

Not arguing.... Just disagreeing with you, if that's OK? .

There has been much talk about wireless and no more bulky pc to connect vr to with wires. Isn't this just all forms of the word "disconnect" as with all visual tech electronics. It's all just forms that people use to "disconnect" from reality the real world. Therefore....wait for it.....why don't we just all

WirelessVR.com
MobileVR.com
PortableVR.com
EscapeVR.com
TetherlessVR.com
All great domains in their own right. Good luck to their owners!

Now welcome.....

DisconnectVR.com !?

Tired of the real world?
Why no "disconnect" from it all and travel to somewhere exotic? Or experience something sexy or learn something new?

DisconnectVR.com will take you there! Free yourself from all connections.

Disconnect today!

Lol too much?? Couldn't help it.

VrMag.io
VrMagazine.io

I believe the niche coupled with the extension, is harmonious.

VrMag.io
VrMagazine.io

I believe the niche coupled with the extension, is harmonious.

Love the magazine names, as I've personally had good luck with them in the past...(Currently holding Holo Magazine (king) in my portfolio and have had interest...)

This said, a quick perusal of namebio shows that "magazine.io" - the kw by itself - only brought in a couple-hundred bucks in 2014... JMHO, but if cash instead of harmony is your goal, you may want to steer clear of these kinds of extensions in conjunction with VR, unless you have a top-10-15 kw... (or are willing to go for a very long hold... Even VRcasino.io only brought in a hundred bucks...) Again, JMHO... ;)

I understand where you are coming from, and I appreciate your insight. Not saying I'll make a killing but I like the combo a lot and believe I'll profit without having to pay for another year of registration.

Steven Spielberg Is Wrong About Virtual Reality

Earlier this week, legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg gave his slightly cynical opinion on virtual reality and its potentially destructive effect on the entertainment industry. “I think we’re moving into a dangerous medium with virtual reality,” he said. “The only reason I say it is dangerous is because it gives the viewer a lot of latitude not to take direction from the storytellers but make their own choices of where to look. I just hope it doesn’t forget the story when it starts enveloping us in a world that we can see all around us and make our own choices to look at.”

In a way, Steven Spielberg is absolutely right; virtual reality is going to make us forget the story and instead, exist in the moment the story is depicting. I tried virtual reality recently when a stranger passed me his Google Cardboard in a restaurant. I put on the headset and found myself transported to an ancient Egyptian burial room, standing before a bust of Cleopatra. It wasn’t a particularly pretty scene, the visuals were reminiscent of a twenty year-old video game. I could literally see every pixel. Nevertheless, I felt present, like I lived inside this low-resolution world, able to move around the room and examine the grainy statue from any angle I wanted. Brief and underwhelming as the experience was, it offered a taste of the future of storytelling.

Physicality & Spectatorship in ‘Project Arena’ Could Blur the Line Between E-sport and Actual Sport

What puts the ‘E’ in E-sports? VR may have something to say about the notion that ‘electronic’ sports can’t be physical, and could even further legitimize the growing field.
Anyone remember Sports Champions (2010)? Essentially Wii Sports (2006) for PS3 using PlayStation Move, it featured a table tennis mode that remains, to my eyes, the greatest motion-control game ever published. It was the closest anyone had come to the dream of a ‘1-to-1’ sports game. In reality of course, you were just seeing the paddle on your TV, and there was plenty of assistance with each hit, even on the hardest difficulty. VR motion control changes all that. With a VR headset and controllers like Oculus Touch, your hands aren’t abstracted on a TV in front of you, they’re in your vision, placed exactly where you expect them to be. Sports Champions seems archaic in comparison.
Project Arena, a work in progress title from CCP Games, is built for VR and motion controls from the ground up. The game pits two players opposing each other in a Tron-like environment. Each player has a disc in one hand and a shield in the other; the goal is to throw the disc and get it to strike the opponent without being blocked. I first went hands-on with Project Arena back in April.
