Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

Reading back in this thread, I’ve not seen much about cars, how many have invested in cars in VR?

This is going to be a massive in my opinion, shows like Top Gear is really popular, so a VR show on this (and many car showcase apps) is inevitable. 90% of the world’s population can’t afford or won’t get an opportunity to buy (or drive) a ‘super car’ so VR will give people opportunity see what it’s like to do that.

So a couple weeks ago I bought ‘supercars’ and ‘hypercars’ in both combinations, hopefully this will do well if car dealer/developer wants these keywords to direct traffic to their site when people type these words in VR in Google.

As anyone else invested in car domains?

Virtual Reality Could Generate $70 Billion in Real Money by 2020
Suddenly, Facebook’s $2 billion purchase of virtual reality hardware maker Oculus doesn’t sound quite so crazy.

Market researcher TrendForce said Thursday that the total value of the virtual reality market, including both hardware and software, will reach $70 billion by 2020.

That would be a tenfold increase from the $6.7 billion that TrendForce expects the industry to generate next year. But even that understates the market, TrendForce insists.
Rest: http://recode.net/2015/12/03/virtual-reality-market-seen-actually-generating-70-billion-by-2020/

Sounds promising. It is kinda crazy to think that we are literally months away from the start of the VR revolution (at least I believe so), it might be bit slow at the beginning, but it has the potential to change so many aspects of the regular life.

Call me crazy but I think AR comes before VR...Let's talk in a year.

Hey KingSlayer, I think for car tech the technology of choice will be augmented overlays or complete AR helmets.

Those of you still seeking to buy VR names...
I have this suggestion to curve your thinking about them.
Names demand in VR will come from something never mentioned before in how we need to think about it.

Think of VR Websites as potential EXPERIENCES.
While this does not encompass all names, it is a unique way of finding them from a "NEED" point of view.
If you can imagine the experience, there probably will be a need for names for it in the next 5 years.
Someone will indeed try to do it.
The 'experience' is what folks will be seeking with VR and websites can deliver.
It's the broader social experiences that I think will be most popular and sought after.
i.e. chatrooms , virtual travel , role playing , multi-person events etc

Not right away, but in a few years when the general tech catches up with the current dev capability.

One of the largest of those experiences as a single niche will probably be VR Sports.
Unfortunately, that niche is limited because of sports market control/distribution and if it does broaden, it will probably go to future sites 'like' NetFlix. .

The best names will be niches of most popular experiences to be had.
Just a piece of my mind for whatever it is worth.

Speaking of VR Sports... This just in...

great acronym, unfortunately .io has kind of dried up.

.io is still hot with tech firms....which is why all the hype wth .io started in the first place

Probably be both mate, there's a show case app recently launched in the Oculus store called RelayCars, it's not very good but it's probably the first of many.

One of my favorite in car experiences on the Gear is called 'It Can Wait' - The app is about the dangers of texting and driving, but actually feels like you are in the car and driving so can see potential for test driving/showcase apps in the future if done right.

We were talking a lot here ( specialy with Chris (flipporium) about to develop some of our VR domain with wordpress to give them more visibility, so i gave a try and i start with one : http://vrperception.com/ 3 months ago and now reached more than 20 000 visitors even before consummers market start. So it was not so bad i think :) Now will start to develop a new one 360mdb.com for 360 videos :)

btw if you got some VR projects your are working on and that you would like to share juste send me a small text to introduce yourself and what you do and i will share it for you ( for free of course, it's just to help) :) i allready done it for some of you here and your feed back was pretty good so don't hesitate :)
