news DomainApps is Discontinuing Content Options

One thing I always thought was pretty unique about DomainApps was the ability to add actual content onto your parked domains. Sure, the content was duplicated articles (unless you wrote them yourself), but it also gave you the ability to add external links and other things too. Today, I just logged into my DomainApps account (first time in a while) to find this message..

On October 1st, Domain Apps will discontinue offering content options for sites. Download all custom pages you've created before October 1st.

I guess this means they will only use traditional parking templates from October 1st and on? Might not be a horrible move as they use the same kind of parking templates Parked used to offer. If you created any custom/unique pages for your content domains in DomainApps then you might wanna go and save them before October 1st!

Totally expected.

Tbh, when I first read the title of the thread, I thought it read 'domain apps is discontinuing parking services...'

I'm pretty sure most people used them for that unique feature and not for actual parking tbh

Seems like they discontinuing their domain parking services total ..they remove youtube option first than changed parking templates to default ..now they are discontinuing content options..finally its dead

..its bad new to many domainapps members as missing there services in parking industry ...

Looks like they are going back to Parked. It shouldn't be that bad for me because I did not use them to the fullest extent like I should have. I'm glad I had the chance to meet and chat with the guys and gals of Domain Apps (maybe it was still Whypark) back a few years ago at the domaining convention in Vancouver. They answered all my questions, gave me access to some early features and a bunch of t-shirts. I was really rooting for their success. Too bad, it was good while it lasted. It's ironic that I'm getting more clicks the last few days than most of the last year.

I just logged into DomainApps, and the site redirects to a beta test site for DomainApps. The trouble is everything is gone. Parked domains, stat's, and previous earnings; but my parked domain names are still forwarded to them, and show the normal pages.
I'll contact them, and let you know of any results.

After some emails to DomainApps support I've had this reply.

Hi Ralph,
Yes, the accounts are still empty of data as I mentioned. The data migration is in process and that data will appear in the accounts once that process has been completed.

I don't understand why a company would launch a beta site without data. Anyway, that's how it is.

After some emails to their support team, they activated my account; but there's nothing in it. A really funny thing is ,on the main dashboard page is a a small heading for "Latest News" it's dated 12/31/1969
They're certainly not doing themselves any favours by launching a new look which is nowhere near ready.
I'm sure a lot of people will be thinking that they've lost this parking platform, and their earnings to date, and move their domains elsewhere.

I managed to login. It made me pick 2 security questions, then a new password. Control panel looks good, however none of my domains are in my control panel. All stat boxes are empty. Under contact your rep it has a link to traficZ to brings up a message form. I hated their duplicate content, got alot of names hammered by goo for duplicate content. I buy fresh articles, sure hope they dont shut down. www.Developing.xyz is my standard setup there. Have bout 40 names going there now. Thanks fpforum for bringing this to our attention

with a similar site (developing.xyz) are you able to get traffic from SE and also some revenues?

You will get indexed in google only. It is considered a parked page in other search engine and domainiq
I dont put alot of effort into updating content so not much traffic. Also it is not responsive( mobile friendly) so u wont appear in mobile search results. I am starting to go with wordpress. My standard template is Www.HempDelights.com
I am slowly switching over. If your good at seo and dont care bout yahoo/bing domain apps is ok but wordpress is the way to go imo
More stability too and easy to change themes

Well this sucks. Unable to change any info, though my sites are still working as normal. I have to move them now, as my conct info page is outdated. Domainapps and noomle, anyone put time into these development projects sure got rammed from behind. What a mess. And very low class of them to not inform us of changes. Stay away from Domainapps.com people. For now I will forward them to afternic sales page. Sedo sucks and I hate how it says make your bid. Should say offer, anyways goodbye domainapps

Yes, it's a poor situation. I've forwarded all of the domain names I had at DomainApps to my own site. I'll check out parking elsewhere at a later date.

Just moved 10 names to sedo. However, I want to get one last parking payment from DA but they got my accrued earnings at $2ish when it should be $16ish.

A couple points-1) will there be a name change also as DomainApps is not relevant.
2) I don't mind sedo as I sold 4 Chips last month.

I wonder if it's their way of keeping the accrued earnings, because they wouldn't normally pay out $16 anyway.
If a lot of people leave them without being able to access their accounts, they would lose their earnings. That could be a serious amount of dollars for DA
I hadn't actually thought about that before. Although I've directed my names to my own site, I haven't closed my account. I'll check in a few days what the situation is with payments. (I'm on vacation at the minute)

Domain apps is owned by parked.com. Maybe if you use parked it will transfer. I changed a name in my control panel to a new template for parking. Will post name when it resolves

I tried to switch friendlyjoint.com What a terrible mess in there. My time is worth to much, forward them to afternic sales page I guess. Spent alot of money on articles, so I hope to build a couple wordpress sites per day, before all content is lost. They were handy for changing the "a" record therefore using gooodaddy email. My main site will now be switched over to godaddy website builder https://ca.godaddy.com/offers/online-business.aspx
Cheaper than a year of email.. time to get to work and bid farewell to domainapps aka whypark

DA got back to me and advised me that my accrued earning is $16ish. So I'll see how fast I can top up to $20 before I make any decision to move out or not. Voodoo, Bodis, Sedo - they are all the same to me - meagre parking revenue.

Yes, I remember meeting Kelly, Donny & Craig at the Vancouver convention. They were very helpful. They gave me all these Parked and Whypark tshirts. I wonder where I left them.

I managed to get into my account at last

I actually like a lot the new parking manager despite being still in beta
can't wait until I see how all those new features can be used in the final version
I just hope they increase the earnings compared to the rest of the parking services, as far as I remember they weren't very impressive

Do you have an example of parked page? I went to a contact page and bothers me the phone number is wrong and i cant edit it. I did send a sales enquiry from there "this site is for sale" page and I received it in seconds. Still switchng dns and then forwarding to afternic sales page

I am still trying to take my content site and turn it into a parked page with no success

I haven't switched any domains to DomainApps yet.
When I said I liked what I saw, I was talking about the potential of all those new options I saw ( you can even add your own content on a parked page!)

I'm waiting for them to leave beta and for users to show some earnings with them before I move back.
