Giving my old site a new look and theme. please be part of it!

Contest Type: Logo

Prize : $25 Paypal

Contest End Date & Time : 12 noon GMT, 5th March 2015 or earlier if a winner is found.

Size Requirements : This will be used for a website and possibly a business card, so just keep that in mind while designing. The space it will occupy on the website is rectangular, about 75px height x 200px or more in length. Obviously I will need a much larger vector file, but that's just to give you an idea of the height x length proportion.

Color Requirements : A suitable shade of blue, preferably dark blue. One or two colours would be best, but open to ideas. Website's background will be white. Please avoid the stereotypical "web 2.0" colours, avoid gradiants or shadows. Think Facebook and Google Plus use of colours...very 'flat' but will stand the test of time.

General Requirements : Logo is for a business listings website. BPDir.com. Please do not include the ".com" on the logo. Slogan: "Business & Professionals Directory". Include a small and simple image with the text. The image can be a B and P monogram, or anything else related to directories or business. Also add the text "Since 2007" anywhere using a separate colour or design (let the text stick out like a sore thumb) e.g. in the form of a tag or anything .

Additional Information : Please keep it simple, smart/logical, professional-looking and clean.

Thanks for your submission Iulian M. The font doesn't look too professional, would also prefer a blue that isn't too dark that might be mistaken for black. Slogan should be smaller or exact size as 'BPDir'. However, in terms of width x height ratio, you are spot-on. Please continue with that same amount of space. Thank you.

Selvamets - Please use a darker shade of blue (please disregard the themes on the site as I will be purchasing a premium template for it). Would much prefer a more simpler image, e.g. a magnifying glass (for search), a world globe, that sort of thing. Something that reads 'business'. Books to me reads 'library'. Good use of space with the text, it's got a good balance.

Would like to see what other ideas others may have. Would like to see some play of concept. Simple logo with some level of concept. Thanks!

Selvamets - Nice edit. Is there perhaps a better font? Thank you..

Sheryonline - Love the play with color and appreciate the thought and effort. Love the fonts used. Perhaps you could shift the image to one side so that it would take up a smaller height space on the website? Although I don't know if doing that would ruin the 'balance'. My favorite so far.

Jeffrey - I feel the designs don't have enough concept put into it. It has a nice balance in terms of space used though.

Selvamets - The rendering isn't pixel-smooth, any reason for that? The image logo is nice, is it possible to smoothen or 'crisp' the image quality and also make the magnifying glass transparent so that the missing part can be seen.

Sheryonline -The quality of your work is the best at the moment. I appreciate that. Any chance you can change the writing lines under 'BP' into a globe or map of the world? Also, would like to see 'BP' combined into a monogram. That would make the logo just perfect I think.

@dezinerite : Made the Image Crisp and smooth(It was due to low resolution rendering) , Would be better In High Resolution and made the glass transparent !
