new gtlds Pull up your sleeves, you new G's

I don't see any names like HomeMortgage.loan being dropped, just a bunch of names that should not have been registered in the first place. PS: I am using one of my own domains as an example because I don't like to mention other people's domains.

@brad, looks like you put lolwarrior's name by mistake when quoting my comment. :) Lets discuss the risks ( or rewards) associated with New gTLDs, but to write them off completely is not engaging in constructive debate. IMO

new gtlds Pull up your sleeves, you new G's

There is a difference between constructive criticism and having balanced point of view from all sides than having to listen to those who have been tirelessly putting down the New gTLDs form the very beginning not because that the New gTLD program is going to fail, but because they want to see it...

new gtlds Pull up your sleeves, you new G's

In my opinion each New gTLD by itself can't compete with the already established legacy extensions or some of the already popular country code extensions (ccTLDs), but if all New gTLD Registries combine their efforts to do some kind of global advertising to the general public then once people...

discuss How to register new gTLD names in 2019 (and actually sell them).

If you have managed to get some good New gTLDs and the renewals go down to $3.50 then we'll all be in heaven. :) But even with the very low renewals it's still wise to be careful as to what we register so that the overall quality of our portfolio doesn’t drop. IMO I like to keep my portfolio...

discuss How to register new gTLD names in 2019 (and actually sell them).

I tend to agree that there are still some good opportunities out there to find some nice New gTLDs, and by nice I mean something at low registration cost with low renewal charges that also is a good keyword/ extension combination, and I wouldn’t necessarily leave two keyword domains out of this...

discuss How to register new gTLD names in 2019 (and actually sell them).

Getting back to the subject of this thread I believe that the best way to register New gTLDs is to take advantage of all the sales that are going on at different registrars. If you get the domains that you actually like at very low prices that will give you one year to decide what to do with...

discuss How to register new gTLD names in 2019 (and actually sell them).

Some very good advice by the OP, here is what I can add to this discussion: I like to go with the 80/20 rule which in this case means 80% of the portfolio should consist of .coms , ccTLDs , and other legacy extensions and 20% should be New gTLDs. In 5 to 10 years it might go the other way...

    Undeveloped.com Experience

You bring up some good points which perhaps have gone unnoticed, but your posts will be more valuable and constructive if you do it with a little less animosity towards Undeveloped. IMO I don't see anyone complaining about the fees currently being charged for selling their domains and many...

tips Five things you should know about end-users

Good points, In my opinion the best way to figure out those “evasive creatures” that we call end users is to think about all the different situations that you might have been the end user yourself in other non domain related areas. For example how many times have you yourself checked on the...

discuss My first $1,000,000 offer to purchase

As you have mentioned on this thread this is your first million dollar offer on a domain name, but keep in mind that the broker has probably done many high caliber deals already and most probably has a few tricks and tactics up his sleeve that can give him the advantage over an average person or...

Some people just have money to burn

A lot of domainers get emotionally attached to their domains and some times go out of their way to get them back if they have a chance to do so. The question is could you have acquired a better quality domain with your money than the one that you let go. It’s hard to get emotions out of...

    BrandBucket Experience

Both you and kate are veteran domainers with a lot of experience in many different areas of domaining, what I like to see is a more balanced approach by the two of you (and others like you) towards new opportunities that arise from time to time for domainers. Whether those opportunities are...

    Becoming a millionaire

The domain landscape is constantly changing and so some of the strategies that have worked in the past might not be useful any longer, but in general people have had success in the past by sticking to one or more of the options listed below. Going after quality: if you know how to pick them and...

    BrandBucket Experience

Got two more domains accepted for a total of 14 now :) If the buyers are happy that they were able to find a nice brandable domain, and if everyone involved is making money then to me that seems to be like the ideal situation.
