    When buying hosting...

Cheap they may be, but Justhost must be researched properly. As for natcoweb, it's a newcomer to the business, apparently (started using its own nameservers only 4-5 months ago). There will be little real feedback on such a company, and even so, it'll be of limited value, as the company...

What are the risks with unmanaged VPS?

Any server, including a VPS needs to be secured and kept up to date, or it will be vulnerable to attacks. So, if you're not a server admin yourself, or can secure the services of one, you need to go for a fully managed service.

    Anyone using NearlyFreeSpeech.NET

Something like 7 years. Recently they changed the way they price things, and while they used to be a great option for people with small, low traffic websites, they are no longer so cost effective.

Web Hosting Companies Have Gone Green

Indeed, it would be a good thing, but I don't see the hosts focusing or even marketing that. All attention is given to carbon offsetting and "green" energy sources. Green servers? No such thing, unless we're talking about the paint job. :D

    Help escaping from 1and1

Did you contact them to ask about their cancellation procedures? Typically, host will retain $10-20 for each domain that you received for free. 1and1 is known to be strict about its procedures, so make sure you follow them to the letter, or you may find yourself in dangerous waters needlessly.

Does your host allow/ have mod_rewrite installed?

It's long been quasi-standard. Even IIS and Litespeed have compatible equivalents these days.

Web Hosting Companies Have Gone Green

Actually, most just pay for energy from such sources to be put back into the grid, covering their own usage. CO2 is still being pumped into the air for their servers to run. :)

    HostGator vs GoDaddy vs Netfirms

Out of the three, Godaddy's got (in my experience) the slowest server performance and uptime, so I'd put them out of your list as far as hosting is concerned. I think they're decent for domain registrations. Netfirms has uptime on its side (their infrastructure and cluster based hosting...

Yes, but keep in mind that the domain registrations themselves are not included.

100% network uptime guarantee ... Is it real?

Belief is never dieing. AFAIK, partial network downtimes/iffy connectivity occur even with the best providers. :)

    Good reseller hosting

If you're happy with Godaddy, why not go for a "deluxe" package? I think they allow multiple domain hosting on that. Do you really need to separate the accounts?

    Hostmonster.com

Indeed, bluehost and hostmonster are sharing the same platform, have the same owner, target the same market etc. My personal measurements show them to be rather slow (at least compared to some of their direct competitors).

Scam / fraud beware of webhostoffice.com

There's no unlimited alpha reseller that can last forever without some significant indirect limitations. That'll just be a waste of time. Move on. It might be a good idea to just forget about alpha master accounts, and go for reseller hosting, or VPS if you want to sell reseller accounts.

100% network uptime guarantee ... Is it real?

AFAIK there is no network or reasonably long age, without any partial or total downtime. 100% real uptime is just a wish. At times, the Internet a whole has "issues" such as after Michael Jackson's death.

    Best place for Adult Hosting

Interesting claim there. Supposing you're not working for the company, how can one find out the uptime records of all their servers? That is one thing. Second, there is no such thing as no downtime. Reboots are a necessity, whether we like it or not.
