.Sure, Blacks were fighting for emancipation, but the North was primarily concerned with preserving the Union, and slavery did not fit into the view of "One Nation under God". This historical record of the views from the South is revealing...

In March 1861, Alexander Stephens, vice president of the Confederate States of America, gave his view:

The new [Confederate] constitution has put at rest, forever, all the agitating questions relating to our peculiar institution — African slavery as it exists amongst us — the proper status of the negro in our form of civilization. This was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution . . . The prevailing ideas entertained by . . . most of the leading statesmen at the time of the formation of the old constitution, were that the enslavement of the African was violation of the laws of nature; that it was wrong in principle, socially, morally, and politically. . . Those ideas, however, were fundamentally wrong. They rested upon the assumption of . . . the equality of races. This was an error . . .

Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its foundations are laid, its corner–stone rests upon the great truth, that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery — subordination to the superior race — is his natural and normal condition.

— Alexander H. Stephens, March 21, 1861, reported in the Savannah Republican

Slavery sure didn’t fit under , “One Nation Under God “. 1000% Agreed.

But , obviously Slavery was abolished , like 150 years ago .. so no one is alive today who committed slavery , nor anyone who was a slave .

as far as I know , the white man and indigenous are getting along well . At least in my experience bartering with the Indian nations in Oklahoma.

No one expects people to forget what has happened in history , using vengeance in the 21st century against people who played no part in it is counter productive in relations among the races involved ..how has that worked for the Blacks and Indigenous throughout history ???

Race relations are going backward , not forward

Bernie Sanders says Silicon Valley Bank's failure is the 'direct result' of a Trump-era bank regulation policy

Still being suckered in, I see. Funny that I remember Trump saying this was coming. But even if he were to try to stop it, it was a bipartisan effort to destroy the economy. They loaded the gun, and the Fed pulled the trigger by raising rates. Now they will continue to keep rates high "to fight inflation" (note: inflation is an excess supply of currency) while printing more currency 24/7 to bail out their banker friends.

But, let's let the bought-and-paid-for pretend Marxist blame Trump.

The CEO of SVB was on the fed board of directors and sold his stocks a few weeks ago, would be the nazi of the month if Trump was President.

When I bought my first house, mortgage rates were in the double digits. Banks made money hand over fist. Why then do banks fail when interest rates are at a measly 4.75%?

Simple answer: Poor investments and lack of regulation. This is what happens when you deregulate checks and balances on financial institutions.

Yes, but don't leave out corruption. The politicians and bureaucrats who are supposed to be watching the banks are in fact in the employ of the banks. They are all making money together, at the expense of almost everyone else. Odd to single out Trump when the actual sitting president is far more deeply bought off. They want you to focus on Trump - it keeps the heat off them so they can steal more before the whole thing comes crashing down. Then they will offer to "fix it" and half of America will be dumb enough to believe them.

Biden OKs Alaska oil project

“This decision greenlights 92% of proposed oil drilling (by ConocoPhllips) and hands over one the most fragile, intact ecosystems in the world to” the oil giant, said Earthjustice President Abigail Dillen. “This is not climate leadership.”

Allowing the drilling plan to go forward marks a major breach of Biden’s campaign promise to stop new oil drilling on federal lands.

This action will only hasten Global Warming with further development and melting of Arctic sea ice opening the door for more US, Russian and Chinese military activity, increasing the threat to Canada's sovereignty in this vital region.

House Republicans get access to Biden family foreign banks accounts.

This will be bad for Biden but I doubt anything he can be impeached for. Many Senators and Representatives have family members who lobby, sell influence to / for foreign companies and countries.

Unless they can prove he was money laundering or passing classified information, it will be buried by the media, imo.

Trump having a breakdown on Truth Social

"These Four Radical Left investigations of your all time favorite President, ME, is just a continuation of the most disgusting Witch Hunt in the HISTORY of our Country. No different than the RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA HOAX, the UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE IMPEACHMENT SCAM, the SPYING ON MY CAMPAIGN, the “NO COLLUSION” MUELLER REPORT, etc. Whether it’s the MAR-a-LAGO RAID, the UNSELECT COMMITTEE HOAX, the PERFECT GEORGIA PHONE CALL, or the STORMY “HORSEFACE” DANIALS EXTORTION PLOT, ALL SICK, FAKE NEWS!"

Talking about big crowds, then posting pics of empty seats.

Talking about not giving a penny to schools that enforce mask mandates. I don't think he knows what year he is in
