Hi guys, I've a few newbies questions for ya'll.

1) If you would find a free domain of the exact name of a product or future product (not their brand), would you register it?
Mostly I'm looking for future products on development.

Example: MacBookPro.com , Aspirin.com etc...

2) Do you think is more valuable a domain like:
- AquaFreshly.com (2 words combined)
- Aqualica.com (made up word containing the main keyword)
- NewYorkAqua.com (geo domain)

3) How much would you value other TLDs in comparison of .com?
- mydomain.com
- mydomain.co
- mydomain.it (Italian Local tld)
- mydomain.ai
- mydomain.io
- mydomain.net
- mydomain.eu

Other valuables tlds?

Thanks! :)

I forgot to mention maybe the .app and .org TLDs

1) If you would find a free domain of the exact name of a product or future product (not their brand), would you register it?

A: Depends on the product. People are pretty quick to take worthwhile domains, from a hand reg perspective. If you reg something that isn't trendy / limited market, you limit your chances of sale. Don't reg trademarks

2) Do you think is more valuable a domain like:
- AquaFreshly.com (2 words combined)
- Aqualica.com (made up word containing the main keyword)
- NewYorkAqua.com (geo domain)

A: Again, it depends. However, I'd consider neither of the examples given to be worthwhile

3) How much would you value other TLDs in comparison of .com?
- mydomain.com
- mydomain.co
- mydomain.it (Italian Local tld)
- mydomain.ai
- mydomain.io
- mydomain.net
- mydomain.eu

A: In the main, I'd consider just the CO, IO and NET to be worth the time, in the example given (XXX / X,XXX)

4) Other valuables tlds?

A: XYZ is trendy, if the word is good enough

IMO

Thanks man!

1) How do I know if something is already under trademark?

2) Why in your opinion they have no value? Can you please tell me?
I mean I don't think these domains can make me rich, but I guess they are worth something like xxx / xxxx

3) .ai is not worthy?

A: https://branddb.wipo.int/branddb/en/

The above is helpful. I'm not a trademark expert, but to know if a domain is a trademark, a lot the time it can be obvious. Example: You don't need to check something up to know "apple computers" is a violation

2) Why in your opinion they have no value? Can you please tell me?

A: It depends on the domain. In the example you gave specifically, I'd consider the CO, IO and NET to have some value. The likes of "my domain dot it" wouldn't be a pass for me, but "my domain dot net" is fair. The credibility of an extension matters. However, say you had just "domain dot ai" (awesome)...nice domain minus the "my", big difference in expected value. Again, you have to treat these things on a case by case basis. It just depends as I said

3) .ai is not worthy?

A: I like "AI" (if the word is appropriate). One word, not two

IMO

Thank you again!

In the second question, I was referring to the .com domains.

I will try to elaborate again.
Let's say we would find a domain for water purifiers.

Would you evaluate more:

1) WaterPurifiersNYC.com (local)
2) WaterFreshly.com (Two words)
3) Purifico.com (made up name)

thanks!

- Water Purifiers NYC sucks
- Water Fresh would be nice, "Freshly" sucks. You'd be lucky to catch a bid
- Purifico isn't bad, brand worthy

I'll take Purifico, IMO

You are asking some questions that are extremely broad and hard to answer. A lot of this just takes experience to understand the nuance between keywords and extensions.

I will add that with GEO domains for instance you have New York, NY, NYC. In general the GEO in the front is in more demand IE NewYorkConstruction.com is better than ConstructionNewYork.com.

You need domains that are not easily replaceable to have any real value.

Reading and asking questions is a good start. Many people rush in without a good foundation.

There is probably no better trait than a willingness to learn. I have been in the field for a long time and learn something new every day.

Yeah, I do agree with you.

I'm an avid learner and I'm trying to improve day by day everything I do.

This has been mostly a side passion but now I've already collected a lot of domains and I'm trying to do it more professionally. I'm really glad you guys took some time to share your knowledge with me.

Thanks again!
