Hello friends,

during last 4 years, I enjoyed participating on this forum. It was very lovely time to be here.

As some of you maybe know, I am pure new gTLD investor, and I have spend many days here discussing this domain asset class. I hope I have helped some of you to form an opinion about new domain opportunities, and maybe also debunked some myths and half-truths which were pretty common here few years ago about them. This has now much improved, to my pleasure.

Along the way I have build one of the best new gTLD private portfolio out there, which is a nice side effect of this journey. I hope in future it will result in nice (and large) pay-off..

Maybe some of you noticed, that to get nice new domain names is not that easy or cheap anymore. For me, as I was spoiled with early convenience of low entry prices as an early investor and fan, today's enviroment is not bringing much excitement anymore. For one, registries are getting much better in their pricing, which then results in less opportunities for domain investors. But also, there are more and more investors now, which are getting prices for good new gTLD combos in auctions to pretty high levels (study recent new gTLD auctions at Dynadot, for example). This, in return, brings less topics, which can be actually meaningfuly discussed between domain investors.

In addition, I started to have feeling that very nice community which was once here, is not here anymore. Atmosphere changed, and although I have voiced my concern for more balance repeadly over last few months, I just have feeling I was not heard really, or that those who should care, did not much. I like quality discussion which brings value to everyone, but it seems my time here was literally wasted by those who care only about their personal profits. It bothered me several times, because I cared about people and community here, but I do not see any improvement - so this is the main reason I am leaving you. Unfortunatelly (I guess for me), I am fan of fairness and rules which are valid for everyone, and if this is not the case for longer period of time, it does not go well with me, and I vote with my feet. Again, it is probably my loss, but I can not change that.

I hope you liked the appraisal thread for new gTLDs I ran for 1,5 years, and that it gave you some value!

So, I am leaving you now (although I wish my account to stay active) and will not log-in again. I believe all my friends are already connected via LinkedIn with me, but those who are not yet, here is my profile, please do: : https://www.linkedin.com/in/brandsinternational/

Or you can leave me a message via my website www.brands.international, where you will also find my email, if you want to write me and you are not at LinkedIn.

GL to everyone and I wish everyone great sales and happy domaining :)

PS: when/if more balance and substance and good atmosphere of community is restored, call me back friends.

we need more mods in a variety of timezones to help maintain the site for sure.. seeing reactionary/rule-breaking posts not being acted on will make some feel worn out.

thanks for all the help and good luck in your future!

As suggested above, should you decide to stay or return, take advantage of the ignore button. It took me a while to utilize it (felt like I might be missing something) but once I did it made things so much better.

Best of luck to you and may your investments pay off well for years to come!

Hope we see you back soon. Although not an investor in the same names, I have learned much from you and appreciate all the time you put into your passion. Wish you all the best - and do pop in and say hi, when you have a chance. You are always a great presence and offer thoughtful responses. Good Luck and all the Best!

Where this guy lolwarrior / brands.international had problems was with unsubstantiated claims that were in fact sometimes positively contradicted by evidence that he was making up or inflating sales. Such as in his dot live thread. Otherwise, no one gave him a hard time.

His analysis is relevant to some changes in the domain industry. He often uses new variables that strengthen newGtlds position in the market

He like trying to start applying what most people don't do in acknowledging existence of newGTLD

I despise the discussion of politics, I am sure there are some crazy and heated debates in the political thread, I don't know, because I have never entered, no interest. Others have interest and are welcome to participate.

I started the political thread back in 2012 to divert the discussion of politics away from all other threads.

I don't know if you remember but before 2012 people would get really nasty about politics in a lot of the domain related threads so I just tried to funnel all of that craziness into one thread and yes you are correct it does get really crazy and heated in the political thread but it is better to try and have it in one place then to have it spread out into other threads and effecting good people at NPs like you and lolwarrior and so many others.

Yes I do, and that was a good job, my point was people here can all do what they enjoy and others not be subjected to something they don't when things are done right like that thread.

Thanks Lennco

Sorry to see you go, Marek. But I'm hopeful we'll see you back.

Your passion for nGTLD's caught my attention early on, and I wish you the best going forward.

As I've learned through many ups and downs, it is critical being able to block negativity and only focus on what can bring value. This is what I do in real life, and on all social platforms as well.

@Grilled certainly is a maverick with a brain the size of a planet. His meticulous analyses are legendary and I guess he will soon return again...

What he and @Brands.International have in common is that they are both rebels, independent thinkers who don't follow follow the beaten track, but make their own trail. I hope in 5, 10, 20 years, @Brands.International will reap the benefits of his contrarian investing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrarian_investing) and will be recognized as a ngTLD Nostradamus. ;)
