Having relatives and friends scattered all over the globe, I am getting an overload of input (some on the record and some off the record).

My intention for this thread is for community members from around the world to post first hand stories and/or links to information sources that, for the most part, should be reliable.

In my community, just outside a major southeastern city, 'assets' have been placed. Only because I have friends in both high and low places have I heard about some of this. At this point it is only some basic medical supplies that should be equally distributed anyway in preparation for a natural emergency (hurricane/wildfire/etc.).

I will start with posting a link to a site with current data that seems to come from an aggregate of sources and hope others will do the same as they come across similar sites/pages.

Because of the 'typhoid Mary' spread-ability of this disease, I feel we may be in for a really large spread globally which will impact the global economy and through extension, retail domain prices.

so does anybody here know details of how say canada gov will help its people? is it just those who couldn't work during the months to come? welfare people? or will everyone get like a 1000$ cheque per month til this is over. canada keeps praising their "enviable financial firepower" for situations like these.. so im thinking... hmm.. maybe every canadian get $1000 cheque per month

i thnk so far only italy did some specific citizen money help... and that was only for the poor welfare people .. if memory serves me.

Our local hospital has just put multiple staff members in quarantine for showing possible symptoms. The hospital is going to be very short staffed. This is a strain on the healthcare system at its worst. This is as real as it gets.

yeah i just read latest news from montreal newspaper that they are closing cinemas.. bars.. libraries...

they insist they can't close metro and buses cause they are too essential. but.. metro is probably THE worst place for spread. so go figure.

still as was mentionedbefore.... its probably best if your in smaller population areas.. i mean countryside literally.. probably best.. so if your area says population 1000... well.. its a good thing!

Just got an update from my sister re my niece (the one that works at the hospital). Her condition is worse and she has spoken to 3 medical facilities today (2 urgent care, regular doc) and she said she has not been asked by any of them if she has been out of the country. All they ask is 1) do you have a fever 2) are you short of breath.

She makes it clear she is in the medical industry and that her husband is a surgeon...she asks if it is possible to take a test to ensure she hasnt spread it to any patients she has worked with and they say basically "ride it out". She told them her husband has a full schedule of operations this coming week and she asked would it not be smart for her to know if she has it so his patients can make a decision re their surgery proceeding. They said proceed as usual.

She called the hotline numbers on the gov site and for the county in which she lives and they were of no help...they were not sure what to say other than ask her the 1 and 2 questions above.

btw, If I hear one more professional athlete...college as well...wining about not being able to play...never mind.

That is fucked up to 3rd degree about your niece, she is seeking help from every angle and getting ZERO, this is crazy.

For sure, My wife and i are prepared, or at least we think we are, Not having a clue about this and going off my gut feelings, but should we go into a country quarantine, I am locked&Loaded

It started when infected people from China traveled to other parts of the world, infecting others in the process. There was not enough awareness or a clue about what this virus was at that moment. By the time the world got serious about it, it was clear that we're looking at an imminent global pandemic.

Side note. Today. just now I heard the sadness sound I ever heard. In these times, because it's warm out. The neighborhood Ice Cream Truck guy decided to go peddle his ice cream. Parked his truck right outside my house.

I heard the truck. Usually I go out just to see the kids run and almost trip over themselves to get to the truck and get in line. It's adorable. Always leaves a warm wuzzy feeling inside.

Tonight? Not one kid came out. Saw one kid behind his screen door begging to come out but Mom was holding him back. Poor kid.

Things have changed.

They want us to panic and feel helpless and when the vaccine comes out we all just line up at the pharmacy and take that injection right into our bloodstreams.

God knows what the vaccine really has. but we are too scared of the alternative which is sit at home and wait for the Covid19 to get us.

Most of us will just take the injection because we just want this nightmare to end. but is the vaccine going to be the cure the nightmare? or an even bigger nightmare later on?

This vaccine right now is going to either be rushed rushed so much so that they will f*ck it up somehow.
