Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I really hope buyers wont see it. Gonna cause too much confusion.

As far as I understand, this tool is only visible for sellers.
Thank you for this advice, I'm going to spend more time looking through the domains listed by top sellers and see if I can see any patterns emerging. I'll take these 5 to brandbucket for now

Kind Regards

And if BrandBucket rejects them, take them to BrandPa ;)

Anyone having problems accessing the Squadhelp site today? I've tried on several devices and a couple networks, but the connection keeps timing out.

True that!

I have sold 2 names out of a portfolio of 7 premium names in less than 6 months.

On the other hand, my 18 Basic Plus names are just there collecting dust. I just upgraded 2 of them with contest likes and shortlists to Premium.
When you upgraded them to Premium, were you able to increase their prices? If YES, to what price?

I thought I began to figure out what was accepted and whats not, I submitted 5 new domains in the Cannabis industry because that seems to be popular on there, some really good ones compared to others that are already on there, all between 6-8 letter .coms and theyve all been rejected. This is becoming disappointing and frustrating now

Hi everyone,

I have been reading this thread with great interest, I'm a first time poster here. I submitted 5 names to SH but all 5 got rejected, they were 5 and 6 letter pronounceable domains, comparable to many that are currently listed on the site.

Can anyone offer any advice on the best way to get domains accepted? I didn't submit the domains with any information such as niche etc because i didn't see boxes to input that info, did I miss a step? I set the price for less than $2k for each domain

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you

This doesn't say much. Just being 5 letter or 6, or even 4, is not enough to get listed there. And not being accepted doesn't mean the name won't sell elsewhere.

But, yes, I think adding description increases the chances, in case they did not get the angle you were shooting for right away. Some names need a little nudge to get the AHA moment. Submit each name individually, then you will see the description option

You can appeal for a review of the name(s) and include the reason you strongly believe that they should consider accepting the name(s).

Yes, I can increase the price for both names by $400.

Thank you for the replies, I may request a review on some of the names. Can any advise on whether how long the domains have been registered is a factor? A lot of the domains I submitted have been registered fairly recently?

Kind Regards

Do you mind sharing a few of the names? All names rejected may be the names IMO. The age has no bearing on acceptance.

Yes ok, the one I expected to have the best shot at being accepted was BudElf.com I believe that it's highly brandable, short, snappy and very similar to others that are currently on the site. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Bud is not the most preferred word at SquadHelp. They like Hemp,CBD,Canna, Herb, Green, or Leaf names. Pot or Weed has to be great name to get accepted.

I do have a bud name published on Brandpa. There is nothing wrong with your name it’s cute just not sure bud names are selling very much which factors into a decision.

The logos for new names have been coming in slowly since last week.

I think allowing the sellers to upload their own logos is a good idea. Since we're not paying for a listing fee, we'd be more than willing to help on the logos. @GrantP

Yesterday I had unpleasant situation with SH. Recently, I have submitted unregistered domain. Yesterday, after a couple of days, I've been notified, that my domain was pre-approved. In this this case, I always immediately approving the domain. But after trying to approve domain, occurred an error, that domain is not available anymore.
My suggestion for SH staff. If you decided to move on with an unregistered domain, register it immediately, don't wait until seller approve it. I don't think, there is huge amount of sellers, who reject unregistred domains. And you are able to cancel domain registration if seller would reject it.

Hi guys,

I've started to list the names rejected by SH on BrandBucket however, I have been reading that it takes ages for them to be approved on BB and then a long wait for a logo design, can anyone share their experience with this? Is it best to skip over BB and go straight to Brandpa?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, On SH theyre require your domains to be exclusive to their site, so I assumed the others are the same, is this not the case?

Kind Regards

I opened an account 4 weeks ago and submitted 12 names and they approved 5 of them and today I received an email that one of them was sold - Great work by SquadHelp
