I'm catching the tail end of this, seems to be some kind of controversy...

https://domaingang.com/domain-news/rob-monster-off-twitter-after-christchurch-massacre-controversy/

Must be something odd to evoke this type of a response from one of our members.

Yes, that's the point. Fake news. Free speech exposes fake news. If people did not fall for fake news they would be less likely to send their sons into battle to participate in human sacrifices powered by fake news.

You are getting warmer, Frank. Love that.

I believe free speech lets us ask questions and seek answers. I think we agree that governments and media lie to humanity. People will debate the reasons, but we can be certain that it happens.

As for whether the earth was flat, if you determined that in fact it was, and that the Bible said it was flat and non-moving, and the center of creation, would it change your world view?

let God be true, but every man a liar - Romans 3:4

my question was:
do YOU believe in the idea that the earth is not a globe but flat?

What convinced you that the earth is flat?

Of course he’s not a flat earther just like he isn’t a white supremist. He just believes/entertains/free-speech/retweets/posts stuff closely related and stops just short of the labels.

To be fair, I really don't think Stefan Molyneux is anti-semitic. I am not 100% certain that he is not controlled opposition, but he seems reasonably authentic. The guy is certainly eloquent and persuasive.

It is of course good to be circumspect as there are examples of people who seem to portray one thing but in fact are another. A good example of that is Jordan Peterson -- very convincing but not the real deal:

As for labels, I don't really like them.

Clearly
As far as I have been able to determine, the farthest you will actually get to see is the ice wall and an approved patch of snow beyond the 60th parallel south. There is actually no fly-over.

In case not aware, the 1959 Antarctic Treaty System actually greatly restricts travel beyond the ice wall.
  • Ice wall, according to the Flat Earth Society, is a 150-foot-tall (46 m) wall that encloses the perimeter of a flat, circular earth

The thing is that even if you don't believe in God, most Americans do, at least according to the latest study by Pew Trust.

I do realize that Europe is post-Christian. My Dutch relatives tell me this regularly. So, I completely get where you are coming from. I will respectfully disagree and still love you the same.

The other reason to care about this topic is that there is compelling evidence that there are persons in extreme positions of power who believe in Satan and worship him.

You are perhaps familiar with Freemasonry. At the 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite, you learn that the God of Masonry is Lucifer. It is in their handbook, Morals and Dogma. I am no Mason but have a copy.

In case not aware, child sacrifice and Satanic Ritual Abuse have been around for thousands of year. You can research it or not, but it is real and is common in Europe too. Listen to a Dutchman.

One of the things about free speech is that people have the opportunity to learn about the occult, witchcraft, magic and other dark arts. I don't recommend it, but it is out there and it is real.

Just fyi, the underlined passage is an intricate play of clauses. They don't say God = Lucifer. They say that those people aspire to God AND despise Lucifer...

Earlier today, I expressed skepticism that registrars (using inconsistent policies of their own making) should be asked to actively police web content, whereas Verisign (which can apply a uniform policy for all .COM domains) is expected to be neutral / agnostic / hands off.

Well, in small part that is changing:

https://domainnamewire.com/2019/04/03/u-s-gov-pushes-verisign-and-pir-to-help-cut-opioid-sales/

The U.S. government has required Verisign to implement "Trusted Notifier programs in which domains are suspended on the basis of their content." Apparently opioid sales are the crime or social ill being targeted.

Notably, this doesn't require active policing by Verisign. It is still passive, based on reporting by others. Even a large company like Verisign isn't being asked to actively police web content. It's even less feasible or appropriate for small registrars.

I don't necessarily object to this change to Verisign's contract. Arguably it sets a bad precedent. But arguably it might do real good if it reduces opioid addiction. This involves stopping actual crime (illegal sales of addictive drugs). So if Verisign suspends domains and takes websites down, that isn't necessarily censorship. At least, if we assume the content is really illegal and that the "Trusted Notifiers" can themselves be trusted.

Whether this policy is good or not depends on the execution. It may also be judged in terms of other policies that follow in its wake. So theoretically this policy could be a success story, yet usher in harmful consequences with later expansions of the policy. I don't pretend to know. The slippery slope argument would be that other kinds of content (not just opioids) might become grounds for suspension at the registry level. Such content might be less clearly illegal. And the "trusted notifiers" in some cases might be untrustworthy. Given the power to take down websites based on content of any particular flavor, there might be some jockeying for position by bad actors who would like to become "trusted notifiers" for the sake of suppressing content that may not merit suppression.

But I think the most important points are these:

(1) This policy comes from the U.S. government. Whether the policy turns out to be good or bad, the government is answerable to the citizens, who can change policy. Insofar as web content is policed, it should be done at this level – by elected governments that make the law and the agencies that enforce the law.

(2) Policing web content ought to be done in a consistent way – at least if we believe consistent standards are a sign of fairness. This is most effectively and appropriately done at the TLD registry level – not the registrar level.

Does this website watchmask bypass all Youtube ads

Yes, it does.

The bigger thing it does is that it uses a SOCKS5 proxy so you are not leaking your identifiable IPs. It is not just your IPv4 that you should consider, but also your IPv6 and your IPv10.

What most folks don't realize is that if they watch a YouTube using most VPNs, in many cases your IP address will leak through.

Add to that services like ElToro.com, which have mapped every IP to a physical address, and basically there is a catalog of what you watch and mated to the physical address where you live.

And for those of you who think CloudFlare is all that, investigate further and you will discover their origins as Project Honeypot. They catalog all the IPs of lots of controversial sites.

So, indicated action:

1. Use Anonymize.com VPN - it's free and great with no BS.

2. Use BitMitigate.com instead of CloudFlare.

3. For watching videos, try out WatchMask.com.

Epik runs all of these and we log nothing and have no tracking code. There are free options for most of the products, but of course we appreciate paying customers.

If you use any ad-blocking that is not crap, you can watch videos on YT without ads. I use AdBlock. Free plugin

This is an alternate browser that I like: http://www.maxthon.com/

Brave browser is decent too. If Epik raises a significant round of investment, we are prepared to fork Chromium and embed a free VPN and Tor.

Incidentally the Anonymize VPN blocks about 60,000 known troublemakers, including ad-servers, tracking products, malware nodes, etc. Check it out.

Why is WatchMask.com using Cloudflare and not BitMitigate?

Some resources are pulling from Amazon and Cloudflare so I assumed that it was under Cloudflare

And no mention of BitMitigate. Do I have the right site? This one: watchmask.com

Looks like the CDN that jquery is being pulled from. Good catch. Engineering will clean that up.

BitMitigate is not branded in the DNS but the A-record being used is a BitMitigate resolver. That BitMitigate is quite a product. It successfully mitigated a 10 million IP DDoS attack last month even before the 30X capacity increase that is now deployed.

A. You agree not to distribute in any medium any part of the Service or the Content without YouTube's prior written authorization, unless YouTube makes available the means for such distribution through functionality offered by the Service (such as the Embeddable Player).

C. You agree not to access Content through any technology or means other than the video playback pages of the Service itself, the Embeddable Player, or other explicitly authorized means YouTube may designate.

Look on the pages that play the videos too. Found some there.

There is no earthly authority on the matter. However, there are truthseekers. Here is one by Mark Sargent that you might find helpful:

You do mean the Bible is though, right? Because you kinda said that before so double checking.
