You have got to be kidding me. I can understand charging 10 bucks a month for a service that actually gives you 10 bucks worth of tools but come on ZFbot you are not there yet.
Yep, I told them the first week of launch that charging to list was their death sentence.Same way Ramped kill its business
Can understand why ZFbot is doing this. It takes money to run servers and the sponsorship/affiliate stuff might not have been paying enough.Seems reasonable as it is a useful service. I'm sure some will pay it.
Maybe they could offer a yearly discount?

I don't think so.yeah they just disappeared didn't they? I never understood the we brokered $39million in domain sales, did anyone verify that?

Is there an alternative to zfbot?
Yup. Most here seriously underestimate hosting and development costs.
Site is up. Seems @McKay Taylor brokers still?
Efty used to be a free service in beta.

Efty was free and they have built a userbase, the key to every paid service comes down to this, Does the customer believe the juice (benefit) is worth the squeeze (price)?
Perfect example, I cancelled Domain Tools and went to DomainIq but when Daily Changes became paid, I was going to pay for Domain Tools for that access and DNS.Link came along.
Maybe plenty of people would see $3 a month $30 paid yearly as the value worth paying for the site.
Brokers still? I am asking about the $39 million already claimed.
Smartest move DomainTools ever made. I don't personally like it but it was a great business decision. Domainers complain about 99 bucks a month while these firms are saying 99 bucks is way to cheap.DomainTools CEO stated that cybersecurity firms are a big part of the business. I think the focus shifted to that customer base.
It pays to know Chinese.

Hello all... I can understand everyone's frustration regarding me starting to charge for the use of zfbot. But let me just give you my feelings on it. First off - I'm a domainer just like all of you. It's just not really my main focus in life. I have a day job that pays my bills. Domaining is a side gig for me. Secondly, I built zfbot back in 2009 (If I can recall correctly) and have made it free to everyone for almost a decade. It costs me over 100 bucks a month to host the server required to keep a service like that up and running. The database is half a terrabyte and the zone loads are running 24/7. There are over 3,000 people using it constantly. And after almost 10 years of supporting this effort, I've realized that I'd rather have 20 people paying me for the service than 3,000 people using it for free so that I can at least pay for the server. Pretty simple financial math. I'm more than happy to negotiate a fee that everyone thinks it's equitable but I'm not going to continue to support the service for no return. I hope everyone can understand my take on that. Ken
hi Ken Greenwood,
welcome to namepros, you did a good thing offering such service for free and i must commend you for it. turning it to a paid service is good but it is not worth paying that amount now, assuming you have great tools like you mention above, it would worth paying. currently it is not worth paying above $2 sorry if i sound rude, try to install other tools above like you mention and allow the 3000 visitors use the service for maybe 3month then you can turn it to a paid service. only then it would be worth paying for such service......also consider your pricing, the 3000 visitors with a $4 fee is much better than the 20 visitor with a $10 bucks fee...so think about it. wish you
success mate
