What do people think this is worth?
Thanks.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I think it could be monetized, bu not greatly. Sex is an industry. Sports and cars and vacations are industries. Is there a lucrative industry for hope? No, but it's a 4-letter common-word domain. $250 might be a good offer... I'd hold this for at least $500.

Religion is a huge industry.

Yes and I mean lucrative too!

Christianity is a $4.6bn industry in the US, and religion as a whole accounts for 0.61% of US GDP. Christians possess 55% of the worlds wealth.

Didn't DNJournal just report that HinduWeb sold for $35000? As an example?

It's not lucrative as you think it is. Most of the $$$ you hear religion making is from donations. But if you wanna buy this domain for the sale of Bibles and crosses, more power to you.

If you are trying to get this appraised I am assuming you might consider selling so my plan would be to put it on Flippa, get the premium upgrades ($250 or $350, don;t worry they will worth it for your domain) and see what you get. Set a reserve if you like. My bet would be in the $2k-$3k range.

Great domain name!! Would give you best value if you list on Flippa with premium listing!

I'm hoping to see this domain name on Flippa as a premium listing(as I mentioned on my first post).
I wonder why the OP didn't list it for sale yet.

Note: It is worth buying a premium listing(In case you won't receive the free promotion).
Besides End users, there are also resellers who will buy single word .info for high $xxx and then try to sell it for double price.

Good luck :)

Yes. That's what I posted.
Resellers can pay between low $xxx to high $xxx.
Best case scenario with a reseller will be high $xxx.
Though I personally sold single word .info domain for $3,288, only to see it flipped with 599 other domains for $6,888 after 3 months.

What was the domain you sold???

Area(.)info
At first I was thinking that I sold it to an end user but as I contacted the buyer after the sale, he mentioned he is going to sell it for more and so he did.
After buying it, he tried to sell it for $30k on some marketplace.
Afterwards, he gave up and sold it as a leading domain of portfolio of 600 domains.

My lesson from this story, some resellers buy domains for a price way... higher than normal resell price.

In honesty, I could see this domain being very low yet sellable. Reason? It's a 4-letter common-word term in a known extension. This is the kinda domain I could envision someone liking, paying a good sum for, then realizing his investment was bad. I could see this selling pretty well, if it could pique the interest of an investor with no ideas for it (yet still likes the term)

'Hope' reminds me of a favourite/popular line from the movie Shawshank Redemption: "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies". Could be an interesting tagline to attach to marketing a domain like Hope.info(?)

Good point. I know I'd be interested in randy.info if I saw it (but how much I'd pay is debateable)

'Randy' is also used by many a term for 'horny'/'sexually excited'. Randy.info - another way of expressing 'horny.info'/'sexuallyexcited.info'(?)

Remember Hope is a female name too....

You could also dedicate a site to Bob Hope - however apparently he had mind controlled sex slaves and probably isn't worth for hope.info to be dedicated to him...

There's also such as the Hope Diamond - est. value given as 200-250 million. Also popular 'Faith, Hope and Charity' saying. Other popular sayings using hope come from such as Martin Luther King.

@900Worldwide I want to clear some inaccurate information which is present in this thread.
In the end the auction of Area (.info), ended unsold at $6,888 on Flippa 21 days ago.
He listed it again for an auction this week.
So there wasn't any flip of any kind after he bought the domain, he didn't manage to sell it at the end.

I apologize for the inaccurate information, the buy now on his listing clearly showed otherwise a few days ago.

So there is a chance that Hope (.info) may receive a bid of low $x,xxx from a reseller as well, if he thinks that he can sell it for much more(2x or 3x of the initial price).
Though low-mid $x,xxx will more likely be received from an end user.
