Bought a new .io domain through sedo last week a NN.io , bit of an investment and gamble but worth a shot in my opinion.

Anyone investing in .io domains? please feel free to share your investments.

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I would figure from the rate that they are being bought that they would be easy to wholesale.

I hate putting names on the back burner and not being sure if I'm going to buy it or not and then a few hours later it's gone happened to me plenty of times it sucks

I took a shot on a 2 word name, WIRELESS NETWORK .io

And I also grabbed, QUADS .io

Quads is nice and short, and has multiple meanings for multiple uses

5g.io seems like big hit, but I can see all kinds of trademarks in place for that

Not sure about Languages in .io extensions, but if you check languages, ENGLISH, SPANISH, CHINESE, etc all in .io,they are all gone. There's only a few languages left. I took MALTESE.

Maltese, according to Estibot(not that Estibot means anything) places MALTESE .io at $7000, and the .com, at $1million! (the same value as English . com) MALTESE has 6 million broad mo searches, and 135k Exact Mo Searches!

EDIT: Turns out, maltese is also a kind of Dog

To be honest I don't know if I'm going to list them because I'm a rookie my potential name list is usually called crap and from my inexperience I might just keep to my self so I don't look like a idiot I just don't want feel like being judged and argue with some one again

Just post them. Its easy to handle the crap from others if you're expecting it. Besides, you didn't register it so someone else has the crap :)

There's a bubble here, imho, lots of <$100 backorders immediately on flippa hoping for quick $$$.
You can choose to be or not be the one paying the $$$.

Once you get to second rate .io you may as well go second rate .com.

Doesn't mean all the names are bad... but lots of people paying premium entry fee to someone who's been at the party and is already a little tipsy

I know one thing, premium .io's are running out, I had a list of 50, half were there yesterday and gone today. I think that pace keeps up. Somebody else here had a list too, and a lot are gone. Some are selling on FLippa for a hundred or two hundred, some are selling for a Thousand or more, some are selling for a few $. It's all over the place. If you don't get premium .io names, may as well focus on .com' etc

These have been selling for thousands to huge companies over several years. It's not a case of needing to sell now.

So why the BOs and attempted quick flips? Because a fast buck is hard to refuse in most cases!

.io is cool, but the frenzy is incomprehensible. :xf.eek:

I think the big Rush is because big multi billion dollar companies are getting them now.

I think the rush on these and the shrinking list of high quality names, may raise the value. The more something is in demand, and the less there is of it, the higher the price. I hope that's the case. I listed a couple of mine on Flippa, and I am starting bids out at $99 with no reserve. I listed UFOS & CONTROLLERS. Fingers crossed for some bids ;)

I know this probably a dumb question I probably know the anwser. Do you have to wait 2 months before putting them in the flippa auction?

No but getting your ownership verified by flippa for .io is a project

Worst possible thing someone could do. Registrations are worthless at this stage.

Not really, there are still some good domains that can bring you profit. But yes, best names are taken, of course.

Angel.io just sold for a grand.

On Flippa, massage.io $300

Oil price .io $500

I think If these sell for these amounts there are more

You skipped all the ones at $1-$50 for some reason.

Oilprice.io 2 bidders both new, reserve not met... must be a Saudi prince bidding but showing extreme restraint, imho.

And let's factor in deleted domains when considering overall value of extensions too! Lol

Uneducated purchases have nothing to do with values of quality domains, regardless of the extension.

As I said earlier, the prices are all over the place. Ones that seem good not selling for much and some that seem bad selling for more. Bottom line, these are worth what somebody will pay for them., and I hope since there's a big run on these that the prices will rise

AVP.io is currently at $12 with 19hrs to go. To me. seems like it should be worth more.
But then, airforce.io is $1100, oilprice.io is $500, AVP seems like it would be better than these two.

PHP.io sounds great and sold for $6000

Crowdfunding.io, doesnt sound great but sold for $500.

The prices are all over the place
