The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
So, the final result of the premium auction:
The auction netted $66,7k
The highest sold domain: Horoscopo.co 3150EUR=4100USD
20 Domains of $1000 and more.
149 sold domains, 8 removed & 35 with no bids.

I hope I didnt miss any...

Most domains in the auction were registered AFTER Landrush during the FREE AVAILABILITY, i.e. with prices $5-$29 depending on time and registrar.

Do you have the whole list or is it published somewhere?

I am compiling the list right now. I just realized there are some domains missing in my post above, so the stats will be higher: above $70k in sales, more than 20 domains over $1000 and over 150 domains sold. I will publish the list as soon as I am sure it is complete.

Fair comment although I thought had read in the thread of quite a few names that were bought at auction or otherwise and the sellers were moaning about how much they were likely to lose?

Perhaps I misread, I am quite old!

I don't know whether the current sellers were the July 20 reggers or not, but only a few were landrush acquisitions like Equity.CO

How come none of the usual domain blogs covered the auction?

I was wondering the same thing. Considering what a hot (read: fiery) topic .co is whenever a story is posted I would think it would have been written about already. It's a very polarizing topic.

Maybe no one has the complete sales report yet.

No way... Lisa.co

I won Lisa.co for only $110. I gave it to my sister Lisa as a Christmas present.

Wow... so you are the guy who took my Lisa away from me! :D I bid for $100! I wanted it!

Always been the case with women (in this case Lisa.co) ... go for the guy with more money... $110 vs $100! :D

I woke up many hours after the auction closed, but I wouldn't have bid a cent more anyway.

Congrats! :tu:

It's an awesome present for your sister!

Adios,

Thanks, I was surprised I had won it. I was meeting a colleague for lunch at auction close, so I just assumed someone would outbid me. Helps take the sting away from selling two of my premium domains for just $100. This was definitely a buyer's auction.

This was an interesting read on the company formally known as O.co

Link

I did not know about the penalty Google put on them. How many big mistakes can a company make in one year?

Thanks! I was literally so caught up in watching the auction that I forgot to bid on the only name I wanted. Oh well

So which domains did you sell? And which was the one you wanted to buy? ;)

Hmm, sales are domains which have been paid for so...

I sold church, peanutbutter, and peanut.

Jelly and vending are pending.

What I wanted to buy...I've contacted the seller with an offer in case the sale at sedo doesn't complete. Therefore I cannot disclose the domain :)

I got my results from LosMejores.co, is that your site? I referenced and linked to that site twice, plus converted all values to dollars and provided additional analysis. Just trying to add to the global conversation. :)

So true. It's tough to make big money selling domains in a no-reserve auction or in forums. Those are mostly populated by other domainers looking for a deal. Expert domainers know the big money is from motivated end-user companies.

I personally like .CO domains because the cost of entry is low and the profit is high.

You think that ? I think it's a high-risk, low-reward extension. The auctions are setting the benchmark for the actual market (hint: not very high).
Yes, I know the auctions are attended by domainers. It's because the end users aren't there.

I'm not talking about the flukes but in general. Many more losers than winners in domaining.
