Hey,

Can anyone recommend an API based dropcatching script that will run on a dedicated server. Ideally a php based script for a linux server.

Ive seen a few around like snatcher 2 but havent seen any reviews.

An old "expired domain search" script: SpyName 1.04,
you can download it at http://mir.me/sg6ks

Snatcher 2 is a Dropcatch Expired script which can grazp deleting Domain Names with Blazing Speed and Free API.
you can buy it at http://www.dropcatches.com/

no need to buy any paid scripts if you use Name.com or Dynadot - their API is as simple as sending GET request with your API key and a domain name to catch/register.
that's some 10 rows of PHP code using cURL, will do no worse than any commercial script.. works for me

still that's much slower and has no chance when fighting against Namejet/Snap/etc thou

Thanks. But I guess you need to load up credit of $500 or so to get the api key. Im sure I read that for dynadot.

not now.
you only need to have at least a reg fee on your acc balance to register any avail domain using API.
no any additional charges/fees/deposits/etc..

there's limit on requests per minute though, i'm not sure if you can pay to increase/remove it

to get your API key just go to Domains --> API from your account menu bar

..sorry seems that Name.com prohibits dropcathing via API

from their FAQ:

"What is drop-catching?

Drop catching refers to registering domains on the drop. Currently, this is prohibited through the API."

had no issues with Dynadot so far..

Name.com specifically tells you that they do not allow drop catching with their API.

Dynadot seems ok, but it will respond system busy when you sending high volume requests.

I'm a newbie and wondering how do you use APIs ? just keep sending purchase requests , or , check if it aviliable before purchase:?

if you want to catch deleting name keep sending reg requsts. i'm not sure about their limit, read somewhere on their forum it's something like 100 reqs/minute - if you send more your API key gets banned for 10 minutes. sleep(0.5) works for me ok.
