This is my first blog post on NamePros, and I will be sharing my experiences and the lessons that I have learned in Domaining. Thank you to @NamePros and the domain community for the opportunity to share this information.
The first lesson that I'm going to cover is the power of the follow up. @Frank.Schilling and his flagship product DomainNameSales.com have reported that "as much as 50% of all [domain] sales come from following up with buyers who originally thought your name was too expensive or initially indicated that they are not interested." They go on to say, "The key to success is in the follow up. This has been one of the keys to the DomainNameSales.com success."
With this in mind, let's consider the following:
Did you just have a great sale or acquire a great domain at bargain price?
Great, congratulations! Celebrate, but just don't stop there. You are not done yet. Do not forget to follow-up. Communicate with the buyer or seller to establish a genuine relationship. Strengthen that relationship by completing more deals together.
Here's how:
Each time you sell a domain, write a message to the buyers to thank them for their business and politely ask them what type of domains they are investing in. Once they respond, offer them the relevant domains that you have that might be of interest to them. You just opened the door of opportunity wider. I have had at least 3 sales by following up with the same buyer.
I recently sold IDHH.com for $750 on Flippa and by following up the very next day and offering IDDH.com to the same buyer, they purchased it immediately for the same price as the former!
Each time you buy a domain, follow the same procedure. Message the seller to thank them for the transaction and ask him if he has any other domains that you are interested in. You might end up buying more domains at a bargain price. Since you have already established a relationship with the seller, you have an added advantage to bargain.
A few months back, I purchased an LLLL .com on eBay for $50. I then followed up with emails and purchased 15 more LLLL .com's from the same seller for $45 each!
I hope this post helps and you all enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing it. Wishing everybody more sales. More posts to follow.
Cheers!
Vicky
