I never bought anything on .io.

That's why i thought there must be a discussion thread.

There was a Click Fraud Company named Spider.io, that was recently acquired by Google for a hefty sum.

Will .io ever Take Off, as an accepted extension for businesses?

I though Indian Ocean related keywords would make sense, but most are still available.

Actually, .io domains are very popular among tech-startup companies and entrepreneurs. Major companies also use them. microsoft owns doc.io they bought it for $24,000.. Google owns coupons.io, yahoo owns player.io.. paypal owns card.io.. I've seen .io domains sell pretty well on flippa & sedo. You should see the prices they sell for!

I jumped into .io domain with Holograms.io, gonna test this one before acuiring further domains.

I like it. They've recently sparked my interest also, figured I would buy a couple or so that have really good potential and test the milage. I'll defiantly be watching that auction @JudgeMind

I'm not so sure I would go that far. With GoDaddy %25 - %35 off coupon codes it's worth dabbling in if you have a few bucks to spare in my opinion..

Looking through flippa at current listings (not promoting mine) and past sales there has been quite a buzz with .io names as of late. Many good name single word or string two words going in low-mid $x,xxx range

.io is good for seo. Google see them as a gtld. It is a short extension too.

if you want to get .io domain, it's better to get a one word name, because its hard to sell two words in .io
