The US Government this week seized 77 domains related to torrent search engines, online piracy and counterfeit goods. RapGodFathers.com, one of the seized domains, didn’t host copyrighted materials and carried no direct downloads but instead only linked to file-hosting websites such as RapidShare and MegaUpload. Torrent-Finder.com has no tracker, carries no torrents, lists no copyright works unless someone searches for them and responds just like Google, and was also seized this week.

It appears these domain seizures are part of "Operation In Our Sites v2.0". 82 domains were seized and TVShack.cc was the 83rd.

Shouldn't Interpol, the US Department of Justice, and the Australian government be more concerned with the Saudi Arabians who are funding Al Qaeda (revealed by Wikileaks) instead of chasing the guy who revealed the fact that our Saudi "friends" are killing Americans by sending money to Al Qaeda?

Every day I read that governments and Interpol are chasing the founder of Wikileaks. I hear nothing about Interpol, the US Department of Jutice, and the Australian government hot on the heels of the Saudi Arabians who are financing Al Qaeda.

What's wrong with this picture?

There are people handling those things. Just a matter of prioritizing, like many of us do.

As usual, Mr. Berryhill gave a few comments on how to possibly understand why this happened:

“Couldn’t the government go out and seize millions of domains, THEY think fringing without notice to you or given you a right to a hearing?”

Where there is probable cause and a court issued warrant, the Fourth Amendment authorizes seizure. If you are engaged in the commission of a crime, you can be imprisoned before you get your arraignment and trial. No, there is no right to continue engaging in a crime prior to a hearing and after a warrant has issued.

A member already posted here somewhere what ICE said about this also.
