Hello Everyone,
I am very new to domaining and really need some good advice on a situation. I have a domain name I posted on an auction site last week. An individual looked up the whois info and contacted me by email making an offer. It seems like a great offer, but they would like me to get an appraisal on my name so we both know if it's a fair offer. This person wants to do the deal quickly and wants to know how I'd like to be paid. Is it safe to do this kind of transaction outside of an auction site? Would it be wise to tell this person that I would like to first see what kind of offers I receive over say 30 days so I have a clear idea of the name's value? How can I know if the person is legit? Would they contact me in this manner because they hope to get a discount? This is all so new to me. I'm not sure what to be wary of. The person seems to be quite sincere.
Any tips or advice will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ruth
