I was searching for some new names to purchase and I was looking at this site Rachel I Love You

The asking price put me off, asking...

Would you still email them or do you think the owner really expects that price...

What if you contacted the owner and asked them that if they are serous about selling it, to split the cost of a professional evaluation with you. Just a thought.

I imagine if you made a serious offer, the owner might consider - but that name is likely not going to be sold anytime soon.

Why not if you are seriously interested in the name. Seller won't make million dollar deal if he/she isn't asking for million dollars. Buyer won't get a bargain unless he/she asks for one. :imho:

Classic example of "domainers-delusion".

You see it on ebay every day when people actually outlay funds to list names- not worth XXX- for X,XXX,XXX or XXX,XXX.
ILoveYou.com is a great name and probably worth XXX,XXX (I guess, I wouldn't pay that even if I had the money to burn) but no way it's anywhere near his asking price.

Not sure if this guy is a domainer at all. I reackon he just got lucky years ago, name reg'd in 95 and held on to it dedicating it to his wife, late wife, late mother etc. If he has set that sort of price I don't think he cares about selling. And he has it reg'd till 2018.

I never thought about this domain before. It is a pretty spectacular name for the right buyer. The name sounds much better to me than eHarmony.com or even Harmony.com. If one wants to stay with love theme, I am not sure what name would be better other than love.com obviously. DeBeers would be a good buyer for the name. The seller needs to change asking price to $5 million, $38 million does make him look like a nut.

That is just crazy I find it very hard to believe any reasonable person would pay anywhere near that price. I think its like ebay just inflate the value like crazy in the hopes of getting attention.
