3.5 - If prior to the end of the agreed on Term, Customer cancels the Services for any reason, or Globat terminates the Agreement due to Customer's breach of the Globat User Agreement or Acceptable Usage Policy, Customer will be charged a US$150.00 Breach-Of-Contract fee per domain package and per hosting account as liquidated damages. Client also forfeits any prepaid service fees. At no time shall customer receive a refund of any prepaid service fees.

This was one of their USER AGREEMENT..

Can someone please explain that to me?? Does it mean i will be fined 150$ even if i tried to cancel my services???

Please look at this:
http://www.globat.com/about_us/legal/legal_user.htm

A quick reply would be much appreciated!! Thanks...!

I really hope you paid by credit card.

Take screen shots of everything, especially the 'offer' and file for a chargeback.

Or better yet, cancel the card, they supposedly keep trying to charge it.

Globat are a disgusting company. My first ever host. They are scammers born and bred. Avoid at all costs.

Sorry to hear about the mess.
You need to remember that you will get for what you pay and if you see a offer that is too good to be true, think twice.

Thanks for the concern guys.
I canceled my services with them... I don't know how long it's going to be online though.... They take time for everything!

All i have to do now is ask them to delete all my records on their servers....

When it's to good to be true, you always have to read the fine print! ;)

ok read on the offer page though..

"30-Day Money-Back Guarantee"

so cancel with in the 30 days even if it was free so you can get out of the contract.

but!

FINE PRINT

"*100% of prepaid Web hosting fees will be refunded. If applicable, any setup fees, fees for additional services or add-ons fees are non-refundable. Any free domain name registration will be billed at $14.95 and subtracted from the refund amount."

I've delt with them one time.. I got offered some free domains so I called them up and said I need an account so I can transfer the domains.. "we're sorry we can't do that you will have to buy something t oget an account" Right than, Iknew they wern't a good biz.. not a good way to do biz if you have to make someone buy something to get an account there.

It's not. It's basically a bet that you won't ever reach that mark, and honestly that's a pretty safe bet to make because you'll hit resource limits long before those enormous space/bandwidth amounts are reached.

The simple fact of the matter is that virtual scams like these lock you into paying one way or another with the fine print. What you have said here is a classic case of why they are successful at what they do. It's like my mother used to ask me, "Did your eyes get bigger than your stomach?" The same analogy pretty much applies here. People see that 1 TB and go running without looking over anything or thinking it through. That ultimately ends up in a thread like this or a hefty charge on someone's credit card.

People need to understand you don't need 1 TB of space or 100s of GB of transfer. You don't get what you pay for period, and in the end you may even end up losing more money. Most sites on the web will never reach above a couple hundred MB of space and 10 GB of bandwidth. For example, I've got a 1700 member forum that hasn't touched 10 GB of bandwidth yet and it sits at barely over a GB of space because of some files I have uploaded.

It's our job as the legitimate hosters and webhosting users out there to educate.
