Hi all,

I just realized that I own YT.org, which I purchased awhile back and forgot about it.

Are two letter domain names like this a hot commodity now? What is the best way to sell this without having to pay a steep commission? I am pretty much a newbie with this, so while I will not get screwed, any guidance or thoughts you have would be appreciated. - JR

sedo.com would be the best place to sell it.

if you want to see some recent sales of two letter .orgs, check out

dnsaleprice.com

then simply choose
Len: 2
TLD: org
Keywords: (keep this field empty)

...and hit Go

i would appraise this name somewhere in the mid x.xxx range

if you find end users, probably more..

first thought was youtube, but i doubt that they would be interested in .org

Thanks. Pretty helpful. I did what you said, and saw all the recent sales. The prices are pretty much all over the place.

Like anything else unique, it depends on who wants it. Any two letter name in a top extension is intrinsically rare. When I see YT, though, I think YouTube. Any you probably already know this, but you won't be able to advertise the name with any reference to YouTube without opening yourself up to trouble.

Still, it's a valuable name, and I don't think low to mid $1x,xxx is out of the question. Good luck!

YT.net sold last year for $7,088. Previous sales (for the same name) were $14k in 2008 and $10k in 2006 (to me!).

I agree with jds, you're probably in the low $1x,xxx range.

That's funny that you owned YT.net. So where is the best place to sell it? I need to go through one of those domain brokers that will charge me 10%? Like Sedo?
