YouTubeRipper.com is a unique site to download videos or movies from free video upload sites. YouTubeRipper.com was created at first, just for YouTube. But, when we caught a glance at competitor's sites we noticed having a one-trick-dog is useless, why not go all the way? That's when we decided to program rippers for other sites too, and came up with some of the more popular services. We decided it would be the most important to get Google Video, iFilm, break.com, PutFile, and obviously, YouTube.
The idea of this site is an old one, but most people who think of it can not master the art of cracking the video protection. I, however, did. My urge to find a way thought was because of one man: Steve Sutton. Steve has been my idol since I found his vlogs (Video Blogs), and started watching them. I decided to buy suttsteve.com and .net, because I knew he was going to be big. So, while figuring out its development potential, I was contemplating putting his videos on the site. So, I went off figuring out how to download the videos. All it took was an hour, and I had mastered it.
Once this was done, I found out I'm not the only person, but one of a few hundred. If you're a webmaster, you know, that's not a lot of competition. Seems I stumbled onto a sweet, new, genre of sites. But, why should they use mine? I thought about this for a while, and decided to add other site rippers. Once there were all coded, I found one site using AJAX (A JavaScript engine that allows other pages to load quickly). I adapted this to the site, and added some more content to make it a little more interesting.

Yeah the DMCA the one that says it's illegal to reverse engineer any sort of copy protection. Just curious if the sites being ripped are using it against rippers who are copying their videos.

Dixiesys: DCMA That's not web applications, and this isn't reverse engieering. Anyone can open the source to a page, copy a link, change a few things about the link, and download it... This just gets the link and edits it for them. It does not even open the video. Simply takes the url and works with it. So no, it's in perfect compliance.
