Youtube Killer???

I recently aquired the domain vidztube in the .com .net .org and .info TLDs.

Heres the idea on the site i am currently developing for this domain set.

Similar type of site to youtube,but heres the main differences.

I am going to incorporate a full blogging site,with a video hosting site. Users can blog around their videos,and also hyperlink text in their blog. Basically the hyperlink wont link to a webpage as per normal,but instead to a certain frame in the video.

Heres an example of a hyperlinked vidzblog.

Lets say that you visit the Congo on a research trip into guirilla warfare. You take videos,and write an analysis of your studies. You then post your videos and blog on vidztube. You can now link certain parts of your text to a specific frame in your video.

Any opinions on this? Possible youtube killer?

Any ideas would also be welcome.

Well, You can never beat Youtube. Since that was the first one with the idear of VideoHosting. Users can allready make a webblog and put their Youtube Video's on it. With the Embed codes. So i don't think they will choose for a different videohosting site for only the Blog. Since youtube is known as "The" VideoHost. And for the blog, people just open a Blogger Blog or something. Well that's what i think about it. Not meant to wave your idear away.

Like I said in the thread for the domain I think its an excellent idea but it cant be youtube killer when the domain is a bit of a rip off of youtube. As far as I am aware of tube had no connection with videos until youtube. Anyway there are a lot of video sites now so it will be hard early on to get noticed and you need to be willing to spend money on marketing and advertising to get a lot of users. Also how profitable are video sites? A lot of bandwidth used but will money from ads or whatever make up that? I think they can be but you need to be a big site where you can agree your own ad deals instead of having google ads or whatever.

You have to kill the owners of Youtube first. But anything is possible.

Youtube was NOT the first to do videohosting, although it's the first to become popular.

i don't know how to do that part, you might have an idea here but youtube has ideas (lots of it) and lots of money as well.

Anything's possible with the right approach... I would think about bandwidth though. How will you pay for it?
